New pantry
We decided that the washer dryer in our new to us Newmar was just wasted space. So we had it removed and the drain capped off. That was in January of this year. We decided to live with the open cabinet while traveling to Washington State while thinking about how we wanted to make it work. Our previous Southwind had come with a pantry and a place to store the roll out island. After many discussions, I told my DH that I needed space for my favorite slowcooker, the furry kid's dry food container (I package his food in baggies for portion control and ease of grab in mornings )and anything else that might be bulky on the bottom. At least 3 shelves and a 4th would be nice. What I got is just perfect.
All the components are removable. The shelves pretty much hold the walls in place,as does the false floor. To reflect light the wood that was chosen was a 1/2 inch birch plywood. The upper shelves are 5 1/2 inches in width and the back is 8 inches. This leaves about a square foot in the middle. On the lower shelf the width is 10 inches.
Lynn (DH ) and Robert a friend ( super handyman) also made sure there was access to the electrical and water. The board covering this will be held on with industrial strength 2 inch wide Velcro.
Lighting will yet to be determined, but we are leaning towards Leds run by a battery. The first pic is the open space showing electrical, water and the plugged dryer vent.the second shows the new false walls, still can see the water and electrical.

Hi lady puffin,
Well done. You took your time to get your thoughts straight before getting out the hammer and saw.

Pantry part two.
Outside of one small panel. It is done. Two more days to wait for the verathane to cure and I can start to rearrange the coach. Will be nice to find all the cans that have gotten lost.

BRAVA! Very nice. I've decided that when I make my purchase of a new to me Newmar I'm taking out the W/D and depending on the model I eventually end up getting will replace it with a freezer & similar. Freezer on the bottom of course shelves up top. Might put in slides

Very nice looking job! That gives you a ton of additional storage space.

Lady Puffin nice job will give others idea's in QT'S # 3.
I never had a washer in our prepared closet so I moved the coat hanger down and installed three shelves for guests we had for cloths storage.
You can purchase colored auto cloth at Wally World so can goods will stay in place on shelves, I used it to keep cloths in place on shelves.
The cloth I also used under Kitchen cabinet floor and shelves to keep pots and pans from moving around, just use 3M SPRAY GLUE to hold in place.
Good job with shelves in your traveling pantry.

Lady P, I am sure you have probably already considered this but if you have a manabloc water manifold you might want to consider turning both hot and cold water off at that point.
