New/upgraded central vac in 2019's?

I am curious as to what the "upgrade" is - still Dirt Devil? Different/more attachments? Longer hoses, more powerful motor, etc?

Different brand. Big difference is you can turn the vacuum on and off by the hand wand where with the dirt devil you had to disconnect the hose to turn it off.

Hi - I was told they are changing to Intervac. It's a good system (had it on our last coach). Being able to turn it off and on without unplugging the hose from the socket is a bonus if there is a way to store it without disconnecting the hose.

Yes it is. See Com Net parts list.

Not so sure Intervac is an upgrade. Nice not having to plug in to turn on, but half the time DW goes to use it, I have to unplug it, remove dust bag, say a prayer and maybe it will work. Sometimes have to repeat above 2 to 3 times. Personally our Dirt Devil worked, worked, worked untouched for 3 years until we sold the coach.
Upgrade ?

It's an Intervac. I don't know if the quality is better or worse. What I do like is that it has a port on the unit itself. You can now connect the hose to it in the bay and vacuum the bays or even your toad. The hose portion isn't much value with all tile floors, so we'll be storing the hose outside. My wife really likes the sweep function, that's why we ordered it. She likes to sweep the floors into the vacuum and then Swiffer.

One note of caution on the intervac. The remote is a wireless control, meaning it will operate even if the hose is not connected. If you press the button on the wand to demonstrate usage, it will turn on

My 18 Dirt Devil has a plumbed port in the bay next to the unit.

Mine didn't, will be a nice addition, especially keeping the bays clean.

I requested that as a special, which was denied, and then found out that the Intervac has that by default as there is a port on the unit itself to allow you to hook up a hose in the basement. Didn't know that when I requested the special.
