New Ventana LE 4002 Owners
Well, financing got approved today for our new, Newmar adventure. We are coming over from a Thor ACE 27.1 and couldn't be happier with the Ventana LE.
We have had multiple QC problems with the Thor and decided that we needed to sell it or do something different. Different it is. Diesel pusher, Newmar, 40' vs 28', two AC instead of one, and a drive that is out of this world.
I am excited and apprehensive about the new rig. We have had bad luck with the last rig and we pray that we are making the right decision. I have read the forums for hours on Newmar and Entegra. They were both equal in my eyes except for two things; ride and price. The LE made it easy to stomach the cost of the upgrade and CD is something I am hoping will cure my stressed neck and shoulders after four hours on the road.
We are adding the washer/dryer, in-motion satellite and a slide out tray at the dealer. We purchased at Coachlight RV in Carthage MO from Dave Roe. No pressure and answered questions for an hour. Took us on a test drive and was very knowledgeable.
The biggest hangup for my DW was where are we going to put a trash can? No room under sink and the shelves aren't adjustable. We will probably have the dealership remove the bottom shelf of the pantry for this most important receptacle.
No dishwasher and it still needs LP for the range top and the heat (when not on shore power). 50A vs 30A is something I have to think through. Cords, adapters, surge, etc.
I can't wait for our adventure to start.
Any recommendations or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the Newmar family. You will love the coach and Comfort Drive will please you too. You will be happy with the Newmar quality. During the first year of ownership, there will be things that come up that need fine tuning and I found a trip to the factory a couple times is worth it as they are excellent in fixing those things as well as others that you might not have noticed but they catch. Hope you enjoy many safe miles in your new coach.

Hi unw1red,
Welcome to iRV2 and the Newmar Owners Forum. Congrats on the new coach. Welcome to the family of Newmar owners. There will be items that need correcting. However, me thinks you have many happy memories waiting to be made. When you get a chance, pics are nice.

We had many fixes in the Thor during the four months we owned it. I am simply hoping these fixes aren't getaway breakers. I am prepared to return to the dealer a couple of times.
Thanks for the welcome.

the wife and I are one year ahead of you in trading our ACE 29.2 for a Newmar LE 3845. Best decision we ever made! Good Luck and let me know if you need any advice.
Biggest thing is you won't have to worry about the passing truck going down the highway. CD is awesome. Ken, the guy who designed it hangs around here.
Steve
PS yes my wife initially hated the switch because she loved the mud room door and closet right by the door in the ACE but we are finding places for stuff.

Good luck with your new rig. The only suggestion is have might be to get a Wingard Trav'r satillite dish instead of the in-motion. Just a personal preference, but think about how much you'll be watching while you're on the road as opposed to the better reception the bigger dish the Travl'r provides.

I took your advice after reading many posts about the in-motion. My DW and I discussed how much TV would actually be watched while on the road. Not much. The drive to your destination is part of the adventure.
I ordered the Wingard last night for installation next week. Thanks for putting the idea in my head, Jondrew.

The dealership called today about PDI and delivery and they are quoting me October 19-21. That is just for the PDI, not the installation of a couple of items. That is over a month out for an RV that is sitting on their lot.
Is that normal? I thought it would take a week or so, but not that long. Our fall travel schedule would almost be done by then. I could wait until spring to buy if this indeed the case.

If coach is in stock at dealership don't see why it's taking so long. Went through the Thor problems and was miserable. Now on second Newmar and love it. Picked up our 2016 Ventana Le 4044 last month.

I was able to take a few pictures of the new rig getting prepped at the dealership.

You won't regret that decision, on my second Newmar and my second Traveler, gets a signal every time. The in motion units that come standard just don't cut it, took me way too long to figure that out. Good luck with your new Ventana
