Newbee adventures-air conditioning

I've read some posts on how well insulated Newmars are. Of course some folks lament that they are in 90 degree weather and can not get their coaches below 85. On closer examination these posters have SOB. Don't know why folks who don't own a Newmar know exactly how they work, must be some secret society

Well our next Newbee adventure. I was real worried that our coach air would not keep up with crossing the mohave. Only had to set it to 3 of 4 on the fan and kept the coach comfortable. How comfortable? I loved it, DW was wrapped in a quilt

Got to Vegas. 111 degrees. Plugged in, set air to 72 and went to dinner. Came back and coach is at 73 front and 75 rear. Outside temp now 102. My advice to those that can not keep their coach cool, buy a Newmar and join the COOL family.

More Newbee adventures to follow. BTW if you kept the table on your passenger seat and hear a wierd squeek, Newmar uses a soft rubber "bumper" on the table that if it contacts the metal it will squeek like a mouse in heat. (Hey can I say that there )

Mark, I have to agree with the insulation factor used by Newmar and adding the optional Polar Pak in the roof, the units stay comfortable. We have been out in 95 degree temperatures, no shade, and the Ventana always stayed at or near our 74 degree setting.

Newmar Insulation

Took DW to local Newmar dealer in October of 2014 to show her a new Dutch Star 4369. That day we waited for the rain to stop at our house before going to the dealer. When we got to the dealership and, you guessed it, it started to rain. We got out our umbrella and decided to look around anyway.

Got in the Dutch Star...and it was raining hard. Virtually silent! Stayed in that unit for at least a half hour because of the rain. Got out and looked at a new American Eagle...big $$$. Got in that unit and it started raining hard again. It sounded like an all aluminum can roof...man was it loud!

Now, if you enjoy the soothing noise of a tin roof in a rainstorm, buy SOB. If you enjoy quiet and energy efficient insulated construction, buy a Newmar.

Found another magic device to stay cool when going down the road on dash air. I noticed that there was a lot of heat radiating from the dash area. Remembered something about overhead fans, looked at dash, and there they were. Turned them on and got blasted with hot air. Thought, wait a minute maybe they will mix the air and make the temp more consistent in the cab. Sure enough a few minutes later cab was consistantly cool. This was while driving out of Vegas at 104 degress

I think this all works by circulating the air up higher and equalizing the temperatures. Try it, it might just make your motoring more pleasant.

Spent last week in S Colorado and New Mexico, high 90's and the coach was a chilly 73.
