Newbie Needs Help on Ventana ??

Hi I'm Angie and we've never owned an rv!

It's been oodles of research into everything but TT& Popups, tow weights, fivers and trucks. In the best interest of our Great Dane (and our marriage ) and thank the heavens we've finally agreed on Newmar Now we have to figure out the floor plan and if we want a Ventana or Ventana LE.

I've read and gotten SO much helpful information from so many of you, so THANK YOU so much for sharing your adventures. Now I've got a few questions that I'm hoping you can answer.

1. Is the fit and finish really different between the Ventana and Ventana LE?

2. I see you can customize to some degree, could you basically make a LE look like a Ventana? (We want to stay on the smaller size but love the interior choice in the Ventana)

3. What is the all electric option and does that mean you do not have a propane tank? (possibly a duh question but I'm a newbie here)

4. Exactly how much can you customize?

5. How does one go about figuring out something close to invoice pricing?

6. How does one go about finding a good dealer to work with? (We plan on doing the factory delivery (again THANK YOU!!! ) and only know of one dealer in our area so are thinking we should look around but how does that work?

7. How does the ordering process work do we pick all our options after talking to Newmar and take that to dealers to get prices?

8. Is there a place that explains the various options? (Some things we have no idea what they are)

9. Is there a place that shows the options (as there are some cabinet color choices and such that we can't find online).

10. How much can one reasonably expect to be taking off the MSRP?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Angie

My input in red

1. Is the fit and finish really different between the Ventana and Ventana LE? Well they are close, very close and remember. The same production line that makes the Ventana LE also produces the Essex or any other Newmar product.

2. I see you can customize to some degree, could you basically make a LE look like a Ventana? (We want to stay on the smaller size but love the interior choice in the Ventana) Yes you can customize your order. they best recommendation others have offered is to call Newmar directly. They are more than helpful with your options.

3. What is the all electric option and does that mean you do not have a propane tank? (possibly a duh question but I'm a newbie here) Yes your are correct, with all electric you do not need propane. It is a very popular option that has been discussed in great length here in the forum. We went with the all electric option and love it.

4. Exactly how much can you customize? There are some limitations but as I said, it is best to call Newmar directly. Ask for Michelle Howard and she will either help or get you to a person that can help with any custom questions you may have. Michelle was a great resource for us when we custom ordered our coach.

5. How does one go about figuring out something close to invoice pricing? Many here will recommend you go for 28% below MSRP for your pricing but that depends on many items like if you have a trade etc.

6. How does one go about finding a good dealer to work with? (We plan on doing the factory delivery (again THANK YOU!!! ) and only know of one dealer in our area so are thinking we should look around but how does that work? There are a number of Newmar dealers out there and you can find them buy searching the Newmar website. Or you can try the RV trader website. There you can search for all 2015 Newmar coaches and from there you can get many dealer names but I would start with the Newmar website

7. How does the ordering process work do we pick all our options after talking to Newmar and take that to dealers to get prices? All of the 2015 Newmar coach order forms are posted here in the Nemwar Forum. You can print the ones you want, select the options you want and since you are going with factory delivery you can get quotes from as many Newmar dealers as you want. That is exactly what we did and ended up ordering from the dealer that gave us the best price.

8. Is there a place that explains the various options? (Some things we have no idea what they are) Again, Newmar or your local dealer can explain all of the options

9. Is there a place that shows the options (as there are some cabinet color choices and such that we can't find online). What we did was use the RV Trader site because there are so many Newmar coaches listed there that it gives you a chance to see pictures of the coach you want in many colors and floor plans

10. How much can one reasonably expect to be taking off the MSRP?Start high at 30% off MSRP and go from there. Others will certainly chime in here with other ideas.

Good luck

As stated, they are build the same way on the same assembly line.

2. I see you can customize to some degree, could you basically make a LE look like a Ventana? (We want to stay on the smaller size but love the interior choice in the Ventana) Yes you can customize your order. they best recommendation others have offered is to call Newmar directly. They are more than helpful with your options....I ended up with the Ventana for many reasons, but one of them was because Newmar would not install the Ventana furniture into the LE. While they do allow exterior color change, they will not change the graphics for you.

Michelle was a great resource for us when we custom ordered our coach. As above, you can select colors, but will not be able to add ceramic tile floors or furniture

5. How does one go about figuring out something close to invoice pricing? Many here will recommend you go for 28% below MSRP for your pricing but that depends on many items like if you have a trade etc.Agree. I got 29.2%, no trade.

8. Is there a place that explains the various options? (Some things we have no idea what they are) Again, Newmar or your local dealer can explain all of the optionsAgree, Newmar is the best place for this information.

Good luck

Batteries, inverter and generator. Add solar panels if you want.

Next question this one comes from the dh
"Do the Newmar tag axles have steerable or unloadable feature/setting - for tighter turns"?

You can unweight the tag axle on all models. The steerable axle is available on the Essex and King Aire.

The higher end coach like Essex I believe they do have a tag axle on 2015 models that have the steer capability however. All of the Newmar diesel products have either automatic, manual air dump or both for the tag axle.

Steerable tag axle. I wonder if the steerable tag is of much benefit as it adds another level of complexity to the MH. It is supposed to lock in a straight position for backing up in which case the tag dump takes the weight off.

The tag dump should be available at slow speeds forward and back so the only benefit would be while driving at higher speeds where tight turns would not be done.

Since tires will age before they wear out is it worth the extra cost and complexity?

Just one caution for factory delivery. Due to the popularity of this option, it now takes 4 weeks after production is finished to start your appointment.

I've been reading pretty much all day the various post on options and orders and ins and outs and wow, it's a lot of information to take in! I believe* that we are in agreement on getting the 4003.

1. I saw that some added 12v outlets in various places, please tell me why that's a good thing to do?

2. Same with 110v in basement, what would they be used for?

3. What's your number one option that shouldn't be missed in your humble opinion?

4. Is solar wiring worth it?

5. What's the mattress like in the Ventana?

6. How can I find out where outlets are throughout the coach?

7. Is there a place I can see the optional cabinet colors?

8. I saw people saying you need 3 ac's but don't see that as an option for the Ventana?

9. Are there options that if you get one it cancels out another?

10. Where can I see actual photos of the various desk/dining table options?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Some of the dealers have pictures posted of the stock units on the Internet. Look at the websites of Midway RV Center, NorthTrail RV Guaranty RV have pictures. The dealer has small samples of the decor items in a book. The best way is to visit Newmar in Nappanee IN, where they have full size samples of cabinet doors, wall papers and fabrics.
