Newmar 2016 Driving results

I was wondering if anyone who has a 2016 Newmar DSDP, MA or LA would share.

1) The driving results of the STAR Chassis or V ride and why you chose the Freightliner STAR chassis over the Spartan?

2) Also have you had any problems with the HWH Hydraulic slide outs?

Thanks

May be too soon yet to get much feedback. I understand 2016 deliveries start after they return from the 4th of July break.

The 2016 DS my dealer had was sold in about three days and driven off to Texas.

I don't see any info on the STAR chassis? I don't see any 2016 brochures to shed light on this.

Go to Steinbring.com and click on RV Inventory, then on 2016 Newmar Motorhomes, then scroll down and you will see pictures and an explanation of the Star. This was info that was at the Dealer rollout a few weeks ago for the 2016 Newmar line.

I found this news release for the "Star" redesign from the Dealer show.

So in the pictures the frame colored in an red/orange the new addition? Is that why the outside doors are 1.5-2.0 inches taller.

I think the doors are 2" higher because the floors are two inches higher. That's why there is less of a step up to the rear bath.

I have a few questions for the Newmar knowledgeable folks.
1) Does anybody know the mechanics of the new HWH full wall slide on the DS.
2) What was the previous full wall slide.

How about basement floor to bottom of rails? Did that improve?

No, it did not. The reinforcement is above the frame rail.

If it's the red components in the pictures they added extra cross bracing down to the bay floors, almost like the CC Dynomax semi-monocoque although based on a rail frame.
