Newmar 2802?
Came across the most amazing looking RV today. Have never heard anyting about it and found no reference to the model number here on iRV2.
What's the story?
2002, Newmar 2802. All internet search results come back to photos with the same paint work. No slide, DP, 28' in length.
To me...it looks like what an RV made by a Japanese car company might look like.

As I remember they only made 7 of them. When I was at Newmar in 2004 there was one sitting in a back lot.
What looks like the tag axle is actually the drive axle.
Just too expensive to go over well and they ceased production quickly. As I remember they were close to $200,000 in 2002.

There have been several posts regarding the Newaire on iRV2.com over the years, here's the link to the search results.

WOW! There is a shell of one of these behind one of the Newmar factory buildings. We just noticed it the other day while walking to lunch. I was wondering what it was for but the shape lines seem to match your photo.
That is cool.

There is a thread, if still on this software ,of all the coach's Newmar fiddled with that did not survive very long on the market.

I'd like to keep this thread open. There are still a few of these out there and would love to trade stories.

that prolly nearly killed them as a company.....

That tandem rear axle probably took care of any front end porpoising like the the 28' Tiffin Breeze was plagued with since the front end was too light. It's not far behind today's DP's and only 28'. Nice. And a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty! Sign me up.

2801 / 2802 search
I'm also on the search for a classic Newaire. The coach was well before it's time. I wonder why Newmar didn't continue with this model ?
