Newmar and Cummins X 15 engine

For those that have the Cummins X15 motor - do you know what specific motor you have? Cummins builds 2 different models of the X 15 - 1is the performance model and the other is the efficient model. I called Spartan chassis to see which motors and chassis were being supplied by Cummins and also I called Cummins and both stated that they would need a VIN or engine serial number which engine was installed.

I you search YOU TUBE "Cummins X 15" you will find a 3 part series on the development of the X 15 and the differences between the models - these are the 605 HP models.

I am curious which ones you have in your coaches.

We have a 18 London Aire with the X-15 which is the 605 HP series. As what I have seen the last 2 years all X-15 in RV usage are the 605 HP with 1950 torque. The London Aire, Essex and King Aire all have this engine with the Mountain Aire having X-12 with 500 HP and 1650 Torque. We have the Spartan K3 chassis and with 605 HP and are very pleased with the performance, fuel economy and power. This has to be the best chassis and engine in the high line coaches. You would be very pleased with this set up.
