Newmar Bay Star

I own a 2011 Newmar Bay Star. On a recent trip I had an unfortunate collision with a deer. The accident damaged the fibreglass front of the RV, requiring a replacement of the "front cap", which is the entire front fibreglass piece that extends around the windshield to the roof. But I understand from my dealer that the part has been discontinued. Apparently the molds were destroyed in a fire & none are available. I am asking if anyone else has had this issue & if so, how it was resolved without a write-off of your RV. It appears to me that the front cap from a 2012-2015 should fit, with some wiring modifications. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of folks here with good info to share. Many dealers do not know their product. I would contact Newmar directly.

Good luck.

Newmar Bay Star

I had an 04 KStar, and had a self inflicted accident that cracked the rear cap diagonally from the right rear corner upward for about 10 feet....it was ugly.
I got a similar story from Newmar regarding the rear cap mold, and a ballpark quote of $10K - $14 K .
I found a large boat repair company with lots of fiberglass experience. They removed the cap and repaired it. Did a first class job for $2.4K

Just an update and thanks for the welcoming by all.
I just dropped my RV at a fibreglass specialist that I found through my insurance adjuster & it looks like they can rebuild the front end of my Bay Star. I am waiting for the estimate but hopefully I will be able to move forward with to work.
