Newmar BayStar charger/inverter leaking?

HI All:

I have been having issues with my automatic stairs, and so took it into an RV repair place. They are telling me that the inverter is leaking .6 AC volts into the DC circuits and that is creating issues.
Has anyone ever heard of a Charger/Inverter leaking AC onto the DC side of things?

thanks

I haven't heard of that, but do the steps work OK without an AC power (shore, generator, inverter)? If so, they may have something. If not, then I don't see how that could be.

Many times DC will have a AC ripple component. A small amount is acceptable depending upon the usage. As you may have a older MSW inverter/charger. It is possible it has developed a problem. I would disconnect shore power and disconnect the inverter/charger from the battery bank by lifting the positive cable and test your steps. If the problem ceases then I would look at the DC output waveform of the inverter/charger with an oscilloscope to determine if it is within the manufacturers specs.

Steve:
thanks so much, that is a great idea about taking the inverter out of the equation, and test.
I'll look into that. thanks again
