Newmar Baystar slide roller

I have a 2016 Bay Star 3403 and the driver side center slide roller will roll when putting out slide. When putting slide in the roller does not roll but is sliding on the floor creating scratches. I tried WD 40 but there is very little access from inside. Any ideas?
Thanks

Need to get the slide out rollers to roll. If they are damaged the need to be replaced or repaired. After owning Newmar coaches for 23 plus years will share how to get access to the rollers. On the top of your slide out you need to get 2 2x4 about 12 inches long and place them on top of slide out on each end. One end would be against the coach and the other end is what is going to contact the outside edge of slide out. Start bring in the slide and when the 2x4 stops the slide from coming in the slide will raise up inside the coach to allow you to remove the roller assembly. You can raise the slide till it almost touches the ceiling. Newmar makes over 100 different slide out rollers sets so will need to take a photo to make sure they sent you the correct ones. Would suggest getting one extra as a spare.

Newmar sells floor protectors, Plastic strips that the rollers run on. When we did CPU they gave us a set. We used them on the large slide for a bit, but really didn't have any issues so they are under the bed. Many have just used other thin plastic protectors under the rollers to protect the floor. If your rollers are free, and clear of debris, and you are having this issue I would look to some sacrificial shield to protect to floor.

I tried the Newmar slide skis but they left black specs from the plastic embedded in the flooring. I cut 5 pieces of 1/8” masonite to the same size, tapered one edge with a palm sander and 80 grit paper. The work great and the cost was was $5. I run them with the textured side up to give the rollers something to grip on.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to try to use a few shims to see if I can get the silde to lift enough to get my hand in to move the roller. I then may need to order a new roller.

You might be confusing two things....Tom gave good advise on how to inspect and replace the rollers.

Others have advised on floor protectors that they use in daily use.

You don't use the shims / floor protectors to inspect or replace the rollers.

On mine, the rollers were covered with the carpet protect plastic that the unit likely was built with to keep the carpet clean while it was being made / sold. It did take a half hour to unpeel the plastic that was wrapped a few times around each log.

I called Newmar on my rollers as I recently put hardwood in to replace the carpet. They had one for the application...I think it is $78 per roller (4 on each slide).

Just repaired the problem. When we went to remove the roller we found a screw that holds the dinette down was too long and it was touching the roller. The screw was already backed out a bit so someone before me knew of this issue. Removed the screw and the roller turns freely. I'll get a screw about a half inch shorter and install it.
