Newmar Baystar Sport 3013 - Help Please

We are looking at a 2017 Newmar Baystar Sport 3013 and need to know how satisfied owners on this forum are. We are also considering a Winnebago. There are only the two of us and two small dogs. We like the outdoors, but spend a log of time in our coach as well.

Any thoughts about this are very appreciated. Thank you in advance.

We have a 2016 3306. Nothing bad to say about it. Newmar’s customer service is excellent.

We have a 2017 3013 that we ordered and picked up May 7, 2017. Last year, we traveled from FL to Maine and spent the summer at a CG in Maine. We are 2 people and a small dog.

It handles well. Very livable. Great storage. Newmar customer service is good.

The negative for us is:
The hot water is propane only. We assumed (incorrectly) that it would be electric/propane as its had been in our other MHs.
We would have liked a bigger air conditioner.

Overall, we are pleased with the choice.

We have been relatively pleased with our 2016 3004. When looking we looked at Newmar and Winnebago as they had similar floor plans that being a shorter class a with bunks. The fit and finish of the Newmar was hands down better than the Winnie. As above, the customer service has been good and we’ve had to use them several times.

We ordered ours from the nearest Newmar dealer to us (90 miles) and the buy process was great. We knew what we wanted, new the list prices for everything as Newmar published them, and knew what we were willing to pay. All good.

We did have some really unexpected issues like they left out the rear window, forgot to install a floor heat register, the Dura Shield had to be replaced day 1 (twice). All fixed.

I would, and did, get the higher capacity roof air unit with the heat pump if still optional.

Two years in now, and the chassis has been great, the ride is fine albeit a bit harsh depending on the quality of the road. Just returned from a 5k mile trip with no issues, just a lighter wallet from fuel. Check around your area for somewhere that can and will service it. Not always easy to find. This is not a Newmar problem per se, more a Ford issue.

I’d buy from Newmar again, if I need another one. They are not perfect even if built by the Amish, but they are the better of the lot.
