Newmar brochure accuracy regarding heat pumps

When I look at the archived model brochures Newmar list Penguin heat pumps as "standard equipment" if it is listed as standard why do so many used units I look at not have heat pumps. Similarly seems like many don't have the inverters listed as standard.

I'm not sure what models/years you are looking at, but I've owned 4 Newmars starting with a 97 Kountry Star and all had inverters and all had Heat Pumps, with the possible exception of the 97KS...just can't remember that far back.

However, all my coaches have been diesels. Some gassers have smaller inverters and heat pumps may have been optional, especially in the entry level units.

Just a thought.

Hi DGBPokes,
There are a couple or reason for this.
1. Be careful when reading the brochures. Many of the brochures are a combo document with gas and diesel power coaches in the same document. Gas powered coach specs are labeled "CA" after the coach name.

2. Newmar will customize many things when building a coach. It is possible the original purchaser did not want the inverter and/or heat pumps.
