Our family is about to purchase a bunk bed gas coach and the Canyon Star is at the top of our list but we're also seriously considering the Itasca Sunova. We're looking for some people who have the Canyon Star 3410 -- do you like it? Any issues? Thanks.

Welcome Jetstream to the Newmar forum and irv2.

CANYON STAR

You have picked a good one 3410, kids will love the bunks, if it was on the Workhorse W-22, Dad would love it also.
Great drive train 8.1 & Allison trans.
Should get good milege with 34' coach also.
All the models were changed this year so not sure how many have the 3410 but its a Newmar and if you read thru Newmar threads you will find we all love what ever we have.
Enjoy the forum and good luck in your quest.

I am not an owner but, had one stay at my campground last summer. The owner gave me a tour. I was pleasantly surprised at the content, fit and finish. The owner was delighted with the coach. Said he had zero items on the post delivery problem list. His kids loved it.

I did a lot of research before purchasing. Settling on a Newmar was easy--Tiffin, Monaco, and others make fine coaches but I decided a Newmar was right for us. At one point I pretty much settled on buying a new Canyon Star 3641 (non-bunk model)--it easily offered the most bang for the buck among the gas coaches. But finally, due to the fact that we'll be fulltimers, I decided on a used KSDP. To be honest, the huge expense of depreciation on a new coach (~30% the first two years) was also part of the reason. New is right for some, but used is right for me.

In any case, I feel the Canyon Star is the best of breed among mid-sized gas coaches. Good luck on your search. See'ya on the road!

We took delivery on a new 2008 Canyon Star 3410 last November and love it. We have two kids, ages 10 and 7, and the bunk beds are hit with them. We added the optional bunk and rear windows to get more light into the rear of the coach.
We haven't had any warranty issues and Newmar delivered right on schedule.
The only drawback to the floor plan is that the driver's seat must be moved forward to clear the front slide.

That is true of many floor plans. I forgot once and damaged by seat. I now check it twice before moving the drivers side slide.

I have 01 D/S and have to keep the seat up and it can get a little uncomfortable on those long trips. I will bring the seat as far forward as possible then tilt the seat back.warning you must bring the seat up before putting the slide out and in

We have a 2007 Canyon Star 3410. We have had no problems in the 11 months since our purchase. Our friends with children that have no bunks in their motorhomes now want to buy one with bunks. We are very satisfied with our choice.
