Newmar CEO and Chairman Dick Parks retiring and honored at dealer meeting

Maybe this was posted and I missed it, but Dick Parks the CEO and chairman of the board (formerly the President until Matt Miller took that over a few years ago) is retiring.

The article also lists the dealerships that were awarded various sales and service awards.

Quote:
With a heartfelt tribute, Newmar President Matt Miller recognized Parks, who is retiring after having spent a long career in the RV industry. He has been at Newmar since 2001, where he has served as president, CEO and chairman of the board. Prior to Newmar, Parks was with Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. from 1983 to 2000 where he was senior vice president of its RV Group.

Miller told RVBUSINESS.com that Parks was like a second father to him, citing his calm demeanor, immense wisdom and commitment to always having the customer experience front and center in every decision.

Noting that he made electrical components and cellophane prior to joining Fleetwood, Parks stated, It was a lot more fun making RVs. He added, Newmar has been very special to me. It is a different kind of company. How the company operates is different than most companies. Its all based on valuing peoples opinions, having a team spirit and making the important things important. Its not all about making money. Its about how you treat each other every day.

Thanks for posting. Do you think this will have any impact on future products?

Also wondered if there is any advance info on the 2019 models? (Especially interested in the Ventana & DS.)

Newmar is trying hard to keep it out of the public eye until the official release on may 11th.

Not sure if they're still there or have been deleted, but there were a few posts with info on the DS changes and a little about the Ventana in the "nothing new yet but stay tuned, Newmars for 2019" thread. You should look there.
