Getting close to ordering, the dealers tiny color swatch book is very hard to tell what may look good using various colors from one interior color group to another.

One dealer said I can switch around colors only within the ventana choices, another said I can select from any model.

Will Newmar work with a buyer directly?

I was told that is only avail on DS & above, is that true if anyone knows, (I'll be ordering a Ventana)

For this question you may be looking in the wrong place. Dealers may not be willing to take on a level of detail you require. Instead of answering your question honestly, they will make up a story, blaming Newmar. If you want to get to the truth, why not go to the source?

Consider getting this closed with one phone call to Newmar.

I am totally baffled as to why you would look for other's experiences, opinions, or thoughts on this site, when one phone call will get you the actual answer and the knowledge to talk to a dealer(s) from an informed position. i.e. The salesman says you can only order from the Ventana line and you can respond with "I'm sorry, but I checked with The Factory and they indicated I could order from other lines, as well"

You should call Michelle Howard at Newmar directly. She is in sales and is just a terrific person to work with. I am virtually certain that they will do customization as you want -- within reason within the level of coach you are ordering (meaning that they will allow you to swap fabrics, colors, etc. within that line but won't allow you to add things from Mountain Aire, London Aire, Essex, King Aire). We did extensive customization on our Dutch Star when we ordered and took factory delivery and Michelle and Roxie Rice worked directly with us to let us know exactly what Newmar would allow. You will be very pleased to work with these two women. Great Newmar resources.

If you have not looked at the threads at the top of this link for people buying new Newmars and also the HOOT's threads they will give you many of the answers you are seeking.
Deek has given you the direct answer for them.
The answers do not change year to year Newmar is consistent in their operations.

I can tell you first hand that changing colors on the Ventana is possible, we did it. We did not like a couple of wall paper colors and Newmar allowed us to go with a different wall paper. This was on of the items my wife and I really liked about Newmar. As Deek indicated, call Michelle Howard (that is what we did). She can easily help facilitate the process of customization.

Jimbo, I custom ordered my 2013 Ventana and selected colors from a 2012 Dutchstar which turned out to be the same as the 2011 mountain Aire. In any case, either you or the dealer will need to submit the request to Newmar for approval and the pricing up charge.

Follow Deek's advice!! The folks at the factory will work with you to develop an exact build sheet which you can then send to dealers to obtain bids. It's a unique
process that allows you to obtain bids from several dealers on your exact customized coach.
