Newmar DutchStar - Shower Water Pressure
Just wondering if any other Newmar owners have same issue with shower water pressure. We have a 2022 DutchStar 4081 - the shower water pressure seems to come and go - the water pressure at the sinks is great and consistent but the shower at times - almost slows to a trickle - it is not because water is being turned on somewhere else. We are hooked up to Campground water. Does anyone else keep the water pump on while on City water to add pressure? Is there any reason not to do that?
Any thoughts/comments would be very helpful - thx

I am hooked to shore and have little water pressure in the kitchen sink but is fine in the bathroom. If I turn on the water pump the pressure is good everywhere. I just thought it was low shore pressure.

The primary cause of different water flow rates is obstructions in my experience.
Check for scale in the final screens of faucets. The 'rain' type shower heads are notorious for having scale problems develop long before any other faucet in the house/ rig.
But I've needed to leave the water pump to run because the city water was either too low of pressure, or inconsistent, dozens of times over the past decade. No matter what type RV I had.
I also use whole rig filters between the faucet and RV. And I've been places - like Tucson, AZ or Pompano Beach, FL, where the filter was clogged after one week.

When we're hooked up to water, I set my valve on auto fill and leave/turn the pump on. I heard Angie suggest that on one of her videos and it made sense. This offsets any low water pressure that can occur in campgrounds when several campers are using water at the same time. It's not just that you're don't have any other faucet running but how many campers are using water off that water feed at the same time.

You could use your onboard water and the pump for stronger pressure. Give it a try.

Currently my onboard water pump produces stronger pressure than city water connection. I will dig into this next week but I would test like suggested above.

I had my water pressure and flow low in the shower on both city water and onboard pump. I saw a reference somewhere that the shower valve had trim valves on the cold and hot water sides used by the factory to set flow with a nod to water conservation.
I accessed the trim valves by pulling the shower valve handle (allen wrench required) and the decretive plate. The trim valves were just above the hot and cold lines connected to the shower valve. They were about 5/8 to 3/4 inch diameter and have a large flat screwdriver head.
I started by match marking the screws to the valve body and then used a large screwdriver to open. Took a surprising amount of force to break loose. Once loose I closed and counted the turns. I returned them to as found.
I pulled the shower head and ran both cold and hot into a bucket to be able to see any debris. There was some small chips that appeared to be calcium like in the bucket. Once the shower head was reinstalled, water flow on either pump or city was restored or slightly better than when I took delivery of the coach.
I next removed and cleaned both bathroom sinks and kitchen sink aerators and found gunk in them which was cleaned with some vinegar and tooth brush and some compressed air. This also provided a nice improvement in flow from both water sources.
