We are having some work done to our DS at the factory. While at Newmar we will tour the MH factories in the Elkhart region while they do their thing. Afterwards we are headed to the Chicago area & will stay there.
We need suggestions for both Elkhart (post Newmar) & Chicago. As this is a vacation for us, we'd like to stay in a nice area & campground.
Thoughts on campgrounds??

You didn't say when, CG's open in April.
Heres a camp ground about 4 miles west of the Newmar factory. I stayed on a Sat.nite before I got site at Newmar.
You could also call Newmar KC office to see if any sites outside their office are available, they only have water and electric until your sites ready at repair center.
There are some KOA's also but farther east and north from Newmar.

Field Trip,
I agree with 007, you'll get responses if you could tell us when you plan on being in Elkhart and Chicago.

Our target time to be there is late May or early June.

Field Trip,
Thanks for the time line update. The last time I was there (2006) we stayed at Play-Mor CG. My review of the CG is in the CG section of iRV2. The bottom line is that it is an okay CG. When I go again I will stay at Shipshewana CG South. There is not much to do at the CG. Activities are the area around the CG. I drove through the CG and it is neat, clean and well maintained. For me it is much more conveniently located to the Amish area (back roads where the Amish live and the food). If you stay long, you may not leave a better person, but a larger one is almost assured.

For Chicago, I can not help you. It has been quite a while since I was last in that area.
