Oddly, the Flexsteel furniture that gets the most use has held up really well. The ultra non-leather driver and passenger seats were disintegrating and we only have 25K miles on the rig.
Newmar offered a 50% discount on new fabric, but that amount was more than we paid for upgraded fabric directly from Flexsteel.

I have a 2013 MA and need to have my front seats either recovered or replaced. I have a local shop that will do the work if I supply the fabric kit. Where can the real ultra leather kit be purchased?

I dont think you will find any "kits".
Flexsteel dropped the RV line and wouldn't even respond to my inquiry re "skins".
I haven't gotten a quote from a reupholster shop yet but thinking that's my only choice other than a complete replacement.

Call Lisa Bauer at Flexsteel. 1-563-585-8356.
Driver seat kits include a bottom, a back, and two arm rest covers, and patches to do the foot rests.
I reupholstered the driver/passenger seats myself. Second one took about 6 hours, so an upholsterer would be even faster.

Good luck, I have tried to get a hold of Lisa for months, they obviously are not returning calls and have reassigned her somewhere else. If anyone finds a vendor for the material, please post it.

Responsibility lies with NEWMAR
While I appreciate all of the effort to reach help from Flexsteel, we wont make progress with settling this matter until Newmar, the company that set the specs for the furniture (not Flexsteel) accepts responsibility and shows up with support. Their offer of 50% off the furniture or material to repair (which may or may not improve the sustainability of the furniture) is not acceptable and shows a lack of concern for their customers' well-being. Imagine trying to sell/trade your vehicle with huge tears in the seats because of the low specs set for the furniture. It's not right and we would ask that anyone who is trying to find an answer include a letter of complaint to Newmar, placing the blame squarely where it belongs. Let us know that you've done so, please.

Sadly, our furniture just started experiencing the same issues. We keep our MH inside in climate controlled storage when we aren't using it ever since we purchased it new. The degradation started a 6 week trip out west that we just returned from.
What it looks like is that there is a glue that holds the outer layer of the "fabric" to a backing and it appears that the glue has either dried out due to the lack of humidity in the west or just quit adhering because in places that haven't torn, there is a rippling of the outer layer that looks very fragile. The rest of our RV looks like new except the furniture peeling.
I called the Baystar rep at Newmar today and they said they have no way to help because they don't have a vendor for furniture currently and to send pictures and call back in 2 months and they could maybe help out a little. It was not encouraging to say the least.

Stupid question time: If Newmar does not yet have a vendor, are the 2021 DSDP models coming off the line with flexsteel holdover inventory?

Lisa was out for the covid shutdown BS for a while, but we last talked to her in late May/June. Not sure if she has been re-assigned since then.

We are getting close to our final decision on the purchase of our first Class A and we really want to go with Newmar but between the furniture issues and the window issues they make it very difficult to trust spending 300k+ with them. I just do not see nearly as many of these type of seemingly common defects in the Tiffin owners forum. It is hard to believe that a quality motor home cannot be consistently built for the same price as a nice sticks and bricks. Again we really want to go with Newmar but they sure make it hard.

Great results
We are the second owner of our Dutch Star, and with less than 20K miles the seat leprosy started. I called Newmar in January (pre COVID) and expressed dismay that my beautiful rig was looking sick. They asked for pictures, then offered to replace all the furniture. They did so in late June, and all is good! They were very nice!

Flexsteel Faux leather issues
My wife and I are purchasing a new Ventana LE 2019, model 3426. I’m going to ask the dealer how the Flexsteel issue is being addressed. I’m hoping they switched to a better material in my unit. I just found out Flexsteel stopped supplying to the RV industry this year. Is it worth getting an extended warranty?
