Newmar Heirarchy?

Can someone list the hierarchy of the older Newmars? Specifically, where does the Mountain Aire and Dutch Star fit in the pecking order?

Thanks!

The Mountain Aire used to be the top of their line, till the essex and their flagship London Aire came out.........Dutchstar always has been right below the Mountain Aire.

An easy way to find out for any model year is to go to www.newmarcorp and then Archive Brochures

Not sure how older you wsnt...or the years...but 99 thru 2004....if my memory serves me right ...it was London Aire-Mountain Site -Dutch Star - and Kountry Star
Then around then Essex joined the ranks between London and Mountain...then London Site ceased...C

Hi - Following names on Newmar products has always been fun, especially if you add in the Fifth Wheel products that alternately shared some of the same names.

Any one time, there was a Mountain Aire DP, a Mountain Aire gas and a Mountain Aire 5th wheel...

Yes, I'm discovering that the label was given to many Newmar products. I remember a buddy's dad had a class A gas. My buddy had a 5th wheel. He called it his "Alfred E. Newmar" on account of it made better sense then naming the two vehicles the same, he said.

I got to the Newmar site and found the 2001 Mountain Aire brochure, thanks! It tells me a lot.

I don't see the hitch rating though. Does anyone have that class/# info? Finding these details drives me nuts.

Till the King Aire the London Aire was the top of the Newmar line for both motor homes and 5th wheels. There have been times when both London Aire and Mountain Aire have not been built as Newmar changes it's line up. In 97 we purchased a London Aire which for that year and 4 years back and 4 years forward was the top of the motor home line. In 04 we purchased a Essex which for that model year and 3 years forward was again the top model for Newmar. Newmar custom built about 25 London Aires in 07 and 08 which were close to 1 million dollars which in 08 they retired the London Aire name till 2015. Starting in 08 the King Aire became Newmars top line coach which it is today. An interesting item is in 02 Newmar had the Mountain Aire Limited which was almost the same coach as the 03 Essex. Dutch Star, Mountain Aire and London Aire have all been around a long time and should be in the future. In 18 we purchased our LA which is now #3 in the Newmar line up.

Interesting too that the Dutch Star started out as a small towable unit mid 80s.
I think that's what I found in the archives anyway.

I can sit at the London Aire table, but I can't order anything. Realistically, my budget palette favors a functionally robust, fully depreciated, early century vintage with a cork, not a screw lid.

Since you didn't bother saying if it is a Mountain Aire DP or a Mountain Aire gas coach, it is hard to guess what you are talking about? At least I can probably assume you are not talking about the 5th wheel. Finding these details drives me nuts! [emoji3]

I can see how it could do that to you. At the outset I was just trying to rank Newmars, since I see Dutch Stars and Mountain Aires for sale all the time. London Aires less often, but they're nice and always out of reach. There's a salvage 2008 Essex I've been contemplating, but the title process in WA might shut that down. A real one is so far beyond my means I don't even browse them much. If I have to buy a project, like I said above, sturdy and affordable, but with a quality heart.

But . . . I should have filled in the blanks up front.

It's a 2001, 330cat pusher, which seems to make it a Spartan. The model isn't listed in the ad, but it's a 40-sh footer, 2-slide with the shallow front slide containing the galley, which the brochures say is a 4094. This one has a wow right behind the front slide that required a patch about the size of a sheet of typing paper. It might have nicked the trailing edge of the slide, too. That's from pictures. I haven't visited it up close yet.

To play along,

If posting the link to the Newmar archive violates a rule, please tell me. I'm new here.

Here is Newmar's lineup for 2020 and prices. Click on 'Models' on the top line. It includes both diesel & gas.
