Newmar Keys and Locks
Read a recent article "change your RV locks" stating that RV's share the same entrance and bay door keys.
Was wondering does Newmar share the same keys and locks?
If they do, can you change locks or can a locksmith change pattern for new keys on present locks?

Same on the '02 DSDP we just traded in. All the bay doors were the same, but the entrance door had two keys and they were different too. So three keys plus the ignition key for a total of four needed.

Just an update on my question. The article stated that all RV manufactures use the same number key (code number CH751). So no matter what RV you own your key can possible open up their entrance and bay doors.

Newmar used the same key for all baggage doors (at least on the older model years) on all their units. If you have a key marked TRI/MARK with the number TM500 you can open most older Newmar baggage doors. And we can open yours with our TM500 key.
Dead bolt keys are likely all different.

Same here, 4 keys needed. The basement doors are double sided, the door keys are single sided.

"gmharrop".....The CH751 is a small one sided key used on most trailer baggage doors. Most newer motor homes use a variety of keys that are different from others. You can walk into any RV store or key shop and buy a CH751 key.

I don't think they are all the same, reason why is at Tom Lindstrom's he keeps them all locked up and you need one of them to go in the MH's so they don't get trampled all over. One of the MH's we wanted to look at, he went to get the keys, and grabbed the wrong set. The keys wouldn't open the storage compartments or the Door to the MH.

My keys
In my case (04 Kountry Star) the 2 door keys (handle and deadbolt) are different (trust me I have tried on accident to unlock the wrong lock). Of course the engine key is different. As for the cargo doors, the interesting thing (to me) is that the previous owner had a handle replaced. It is obvious since it doesn't match the other handles (not painted to match the coach). Anyway, because of that I have 2 different cargo door keys. They are numbered different and cut different (about 1/4 of the teach are different). That said either key will open any of the cargo locks! That's right. No forcing, no fuss at all. They look different, are marked different, etc., but both work on any of my cargo doors easily.
Coming from a travel trailer and Class C background (751 key) I just always assumed anyone could unlock my cargo doors, so it didn't seem too odd to me I guess.

Hi Everyone,
There are two entry door locks. For this thread we'll call them the upper lock and a lower lock.
1. The lower lock while not the same on all Newmar coaches is pretty common. A TRI MARK key fits the lock. If you take your coach to Newmar for service, they tell you to lock only the lower entry door lock. Newmar techs have a master key for this lock. One can purchase a key for this lock from Newmar or many RV parts stores.
2. The upper door lock can be from several different manufacturers and is similar to the lock on the S&B house door. Key wise it has the same security as any S&B door lock. One can not purchase this key via the same vendors as #1. One must have another key cut or have a locksmith determine what key is correct and make the key.
3. The basement door key, like #1 are not all the same (from coach to coach), but quite common. The key might have a FIC name on it. Newmar techs also have a master key for the basement doors. A basement door key can be purchased from Newmar or many RV parts stores. This key does wear out quickly.
The lower entry door lock and basement doors locks are quite common across brands.

I know that is true on my Winnebago but the dead bolt lock is unique (or at least from a very large pool). I always lock the deadbolt in a campground since I figure there are 50 other guys with the same key for the bottom door lock.
