Newmar Parts Over Charging.

One of these cost 398.71 and the other cost 119.97 with a list price of 149.99. Both come in a Dometic package with the same part number on the package. One was purchased through Newmar Parts and one was from Environment Marine Services Inc. Can anyone guess which one is from Newmar and with one is from Environment Marine Services?

Im sure the one from Newmar is better packaging, better vacuum sealed, handled with better care or something... LMAO

I guess that puts a new perspective on reasonable profit margin..

Winnebago has a new company they have to pay for and YOU are going to help them.

If they charged "Retail" of 149 I wouldn't been upset if I found it for less, I just remember if I needed another one. Over double "Retail" set by Dometic is not reasonable in my opinion.

This is looking like the repair shops that quote outrageous prices for repairs because they really don't want the work. Newmar would rather not deal directly with customer part requests, but would rather the customer go through dealer or other repair service centers. Just my thoughts.

I know that Klauber makes the slide motors for Newmar. On my particular motor, Klauber charges Newmar about $350- $400. Newmar sells it for $1200.00.

Sooooo...... make a product that fails, construct a deal that doesn't allow the manufacturer to sell to the public and then sell the part for three times what it cost you. That works on a $5 part, but is BRUTAL on a $400 part.

You would be even more disappointed if you learned what it actually cost to manufacture.

The Double bag one ......Newmar
Higher pricing due to rebagging, sealer machine, extra handling, inventory

The Single bag one.......Dometic via aftermarket vendor

On a side note:
Is this post a following of the other Newmar pricing post on 8/19?

Don't blame Winnabago- Newmar has long- since 1999 when I started dealing with them- had a 300%-400% markup on parts!

All us 'old timers' know to buy elsewhere if you can!!

Happy Trails

FYI, Winnebago no longer sells parts to general public. You have to go a dealer or ....
Is this the sign if the times?
