Newmar Touch up Kit...Do you use the brush on the tip?

I recently got the paint touch up kit from Newmar (actually comes from Industrial Finishes in Eugene, OR). I was wondering if anyone has actually used the brushes at the end of the paint "tube." To me, these brushes look kind of large for detailed touchup. Looks like it would be hard to control the amount being applied. My intent was to use some of my fine cresting brushes that I use in arrow building which are very high-quality fine brushes that can apply very fine layers vs a big glob. But, I wanted to reach out and see what others using these kits have done. With brushes already attached, it may be more difficult to apply the paint to a different brush for actual use on the coach.

I am also concerned it will be difficult to get those attached brushes clean and that the lacquer finishes will harden on the attached brush. If you used the attached brush, what was your cleaning technique? I did squeeze a little paint onto the brush, then used paint thinner on a paper towel to blot as much back out as I could. Not as good as I'd like, but we'll see if the brush hardens up.

I haven’t used the Newmar kits but I’ve used others (Ford) and they all leave a blob of paint. It’s noticeable but usually better than doing nothing. I like your idea of using finer detail brushes for this. You’ll still see it but it won’t be as obvious.

If your coach is painted with BASF/Diamont paint, this is a good source if you find you need more. You can buy it by the pint:

I use these. https://www.amazon.com/ATLIN-Disposa.../dp/B01N6D0207
Easier to just throw them away when finished. Paint always seems to dry some while applying making the brush in bottle worse with time.

Yes, totally different. It is a fine tip and more like foam. Been using them about a year on rock chips. Work great.

Where did you order your touch up kit? I went to industrial finishes but it looks like I need the vendor. Thanks.

If you keep the paint bottles in the refer, it will extend their shelf life.

I ordered right through Newmar. Just called them. Shipped price is $25 for the kit (5 paint colors in my case). I just had to give them my unit serial number and then we verified the paint colors they had on file for my coach. All the info on my paint was on a sheet pasted to the inside of one of my overhead kitchen cabinets. They are fairly good sized vials of paint for each color. There is no fluid oz marking on them, but I'd say they are roughly the size of a jar of finger nail polish.

I started using the brush and it put too much paint on so I used a tooth pick and a paper match..

I have a tube of those small foam tip touch up brushes. I picked them up years ago at an automotive paint store. They're perfect for touching up small chips. I use the brush on the Newmar for larger or long straight marks.

For the chips, I apply several lights coats so I don't get a blob. On the longer straight scratches, if they're thin, I'll apply with the brush and then use a cloth to wipe it back off, leaving just the paint in the scratch.
