Stuart, We have had our 3434 for nearly 2 years now, and still feel that it was the right choice for us and firmly believe that any coach in this size becomes a series compromise. We attend the Tampa super show ever year and are still more impressed with the Ventana over the other brands in this price point.
What we like most is the size, quality of construction, towing capacity for the Honda CRV, and the sofa layout so that I don't have to be viewing the TV at an angle. The table - chair layout also adds a lot of additional counter space to the "L" shaped kitchen.
Others have posted their distaste for the floor plan because of how tight it is between the "L" counter and lounger, but we're of modest size and fit quite easily and if you think that the spacing may be problem, turn the lounge side ways while traveling.
Bottom line, we have no plans to upgrade in size or amenities.
What we don't like is the standard mattress, so we added a Tempur Pedic 3" topper and solved the problem. The other thing to watch out for is what I consider as standard for Newmar, the bedroom window valance extends over the bed. I like to sleep on the edge of the bed and my elbow will hit the valance when I roll.
Some of the changed made since purchase are:
Replaced the Norcold refrigerator with a Samsung residential.
Added the GE Advantium speed cook oven.
Installed a cargo sliding tray.
TST TPMS system to monitor the toad.
Warranty items: while we did have some minor quality issues the biggest one was (6) kitchen cabinet doors which started to separate at the corner miter joints. Newmar acknowledged the problem and replaced not only the 6, but ever one in the RV. The replacements lasted about 4 months and they were replaced with the Mountain Aire series which solved the problem.
Good luck with your selecting and buy what fits the need and budget.
