Newmar Ventana Full Wall Slide

I recently had to have the full wall slide repaired. According to the dealer work order, the "trans torque bushing has stripped". I thought there were several threads about this issue, but I can't seem to find them.

Would someone please point me to those threads? Thank you.

Here are a few in this forum. There is one more I could not find. Search on the forum for slide issues, that should do it. And, is this a large repair? Would the factory do it better? Things to consider. Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Interesting that the procedure for retracting/extending found on Newgle differs from the paper manual I received with the new coach.

The repairs cost about $700. Extended warranty covered all but the $250 deductible.

At least two or three discussions on this topic currently pending in this forum. On my current coach, level (which dumps air as part of leveling process), then slides out. Always plugged into Shore Power or ran genset for both processes. Newmar FWS, gives a detailed procedure for extending and leveling. I don't know how stiff the chassis in relation to current one, but have been told the new one will flex more. Now to me, extending slides first and then leveling coach makes no sense, and others in those threads I mentioned above also don't completely agree. So I am going to do it Newmar's way first and see how the coach feels, and if it does not feel right, going to level, then extend. The school is in disarray about this.

for me, in moving from many other coaches to the newmar, the process of slides out and then level seemed really weird at first. but in practice, it makes sense....at ride height, deploying the slides will cause no stress on them.....the air is adjusted to the stance of the coach on whatever ground it is on....so bring the slides out, then dump and level....any stresses on the frame won't be transferred to the slide mechanisms while they are in motion...and that is the key....

then air up, and bring the slides is....stresses again gone......

it's different, but i think it makes total sense, when you stop and think about it....

everything for the slides is fitted in the factory at ride height...so that is neutral position....moving the slide mechanisms at neutral position is the best position......

and this is only for the FWS...the other slides, you can move from any position...before the FWS came to be, this was not an issue...it's that massive slide that makes the procedure need to change.....

Slide slipping

My Slide was slipping , the bushing was broke in side. Slide works a lot better after replacing.
