Newmar Ventana questions

Hi,

What year did the Ventana get adjustable comfort drive?

Also is a 9-10 year old ventana of comparable fit and finish (for its age) to a current ventana or would it be a entana LE?

Is the adjustable comfort drive worth buying a newer model?

Thanks,

Stephen

We have a '16 38' Ventana. We were in a strong wind from the passenger side all day yesterday. I felt very little movement. If you have a choice purchase the Ventana not the Ventana LE. A lot more upgrades.

1stmh, if you can afford it, the comfort drive is absolutely worth it.

For sure. It's a throw up between a Ventana or Canyon/Bay star at the moment.

I would love a diesel of I can afford.

My wife and I have agreed on a budget of no more than 70k, that will get me a 2006 at the moment.

I can't really offer any insight on the Ventanas, but I will say that coming from a Fleetwood Discovery that didn't have ComfortDrive to now having a Newmar LA with it, I wouldn't want to have a coach without it. It's really GREAT! Especially on long trips. I've driven easily 8-9 hours and still felt relaxed. I can't say that about our former, which after only a few hours, I felt pretty fatigued and couldn't wait to get off the road. The difference is really night and day IMO.

Among so many other improvements over our last coach, that one is definitely at the top of the list!

Best of luck in your search and have fun!

I've never driven with comfort drive, and although I'm sure it is great don't make your decision solely on that criteria. I've driven our 2007 Ventana over 50k miles and find it comfortable to drive most of the time. Cross winds, especially where it is intermittent due to the terrain or traffic require me to drop me speed, mostly to about 55 mph and in severe winds to 45 mph so I can not worry about being suddenly pushed.

I would strongly suggest taking it to a place with the reputation of Henderson's Line-up (Grants Pass, OR) to insure it is dialed in to provide the best handling especially if it is a short coach like ours.

It is not unusual for me to drive 700 miles in a day (frequently with a stop for a nap in the afternoon). My husband will drive if we have a time constraint, but prefers to let his wife pilot the craft. [He is a good navigator]. Our Ventana is a comfortable coach to drive even without comfort drive. Good luck with your shopping.

As previous thread has said you can add torque bars on rear end for much better control in windy weather which I had on all my older gas chassis including the Workhorse.
If you are on a budget Newmar Workhorse gas has many models still on the road giving good service for owners
Here is a link that will lead you to all the brochures and owners guides for 1999 to present coach's brochure's will give you information on options for the year your interested in.
Good luck in your hunt for your Newmar.
