NIRVC Atlanta Delivery Monday

Hi all,
Our 2022 Dutch Star 4369 has been delivered to NIRVC and we have set up the walk through on Monday 5/16 with the closing tentatively scheduled for Tuesday. This is not our first coach but it is our first new coach. I have read through the threads about PDI and have printed out the PDI sheets that were recommended.

Tell me about your delivery experience with NIRVC good bad and the ugly. We ordered it in September 2021 and I will say that I very much appreciate that Brett Davis is holding to the price that was agreed on when the order went in.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.

Finally, right? Just make sure that everything is working. We had a recent delivery and found a couple of issues, sure it was disappointing but they are working through them.

NIRVC does an excellent job on the PDI (or at least Lewisville does). We came out of a 2013 Tiffin Phaeton and still found there was so much to take in. If I had it to do over I would have stay at the dealership longer to ďplayĒ with everything. NIRVC great to make sure everything is working to your satisfaction before you leave.

It worked well for our delivery/acceptance of a new coach to spend at least one night on the dealer's lot. Two would be better. It gives you a chance to review all the nuances of system operations (tech and entertainment systems come to mind) while they're still fresh in your memory from the walkthrough. It's much easier to get immediate attention while you're still on the property.

We also spent about a month at a resort a couple of hours away and had a good, long chance to test all systems. We found a couple of other issues and arranged for a quick stop at the dealer's to get those addressed before we were on our way home. I'm not, necessarily, suggesting that you spend a month in proximity to NIRVC Atlanta, but, a few more nights close by to give the coach a thorough check-out. Fill and empty the holding tanks. Spend a night without any external power to confirm that the batteries and inverter are up to a reasonable challenge. Run the generator for several hours with load on the electrical system.

It's so, so much easier to get things addressed while the dealer still remembers the purchase transaction.

Take care,
Stu

One of the things that I recommend for the interior and exterior finish......pretend that you're waxing it. On the outside, mentally wax it by hand, inspecting the paint and finish. On the inside mentally wax the wood like you're using a soft cloth with Pledge. Sounds silly, but you end up going over every inch. Ask the salespeople to just leave you alone so you can walk through the above process without interruption.

Thanks for all the good info.

Our plan is to be there first thing Monday morning and work with William for the walk through, then a test drive. We'll spend Monday night in a hotel close by and return Tuesday for more inspection. The closing is set up for 2 pm Tuesday and if all is well we will close and spend the night in the coach on their lot, we may also spend Wednesday night and head home Thursday.

I am in the throws of building a new RV garage and it is not finished yet so NIRVC has offered me 2 months indoor storage gratis, very nice. So if we find things that need addressing they will have it. They are installing the Retrobands and Cetraballncers while it is there.

Any thoughts on the fire suppression system they are pushing?

Here is the coach and the building so far.

Capt. Van, That's a nice looking coach and a great start on the RV garage!

I think you've got a good, well considered delivery plan.

Regarding the fire suppression system, there's along thread here: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/pro...-538378-4.html that discusses the Proteng fire suppression system. Suffice it to say that opinions vary. The fact that NIRVC has offered installation of the Proteng system suggests to me that they have a degree of confidence that it's worthy of consideration.

If there's any chance that, during the two months of complimentary storage, you could return to take the coach out for a few days at a nearby campground and have a more extended opportunity to test the various systems, there may be some benefit. IMHO, that's better than one, or two nights on the NIRVC lot.

Enjoy that gorgeous coach!

Take care,
Stu

NIRVC does an excellent job of PDI's. They have an approximately 238 point check list, which you will be asked to sign off on each one of those items.

I HIGHLY recommend you stay in the coach that first night. You will learn a lot about your coach, and will have more questions and probably a few issues to correct the next am.

Like Don said, we drove our coach home after the two day PDI, then took it to a local campground for 5 days. The more you use it, the more familiar you will be with your coach.

NIRVC does a great job of making sure your new coach is ready to go! Take your time, try everything, stay on the lot a few days working every system. They want you happy before you leave. Keep in mind itís always easier to get things fixed at pick up, then making a follow up appointment.

We have purchased two from NIRVC Lewisville, a 2019 and 2022. Both had Retrobands and we just installed Proteng on the new coach a couple weeks ago. I think it cheap insurance to protect your family and your investment. As others mentioned, if Brett believes in Proteng, I trust his research and judgement in offering the product!
Congratulations on your new coach!

Congratulations on the new coach! Something I recommend to everyone getting a new or used coach is record the PDI. This will give you something you can go back and watch if problems arrive or you forget how something works. I don't think any of us can remember every thing there is to know about a new RV.

Can I ask what the cost was for the proteng system?

We took delivery of our 2018 Entegra Cornerstone at NIRVC's Atlanta facility back in October 2017. Todd Springs was the General Manager at that time and remains so to this day. One of Brett's earliest employees and a great guy.

KJ did our delivery and we continue to regard him as a close friend. Even though he's not doing your delivery you might end up interacting with him while you're there.

Todd and his team do a great job - I'm confident you'll enjoy the experience!
