2020 NKK International Rally
2020 KOUNTRY KLUB INTERNATIONAL RALLY, ROCK SPRINGS, WY
On behalf of all of us at Newmar Corporation and the members of the Kountry Klub Board of Directors, I hope that this letter finds you safe and in good health.
As all of you are aware, the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has changed many elements of our daily lives here at home and around the world. Certainly here at Newmar, our focus continues to be the safety of our employees as well as the Newmar owners that routinely visit our service department and other facilities here in Nappanee.
With the uncertainty surrounding this pandemic, the Kountry Klub Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to not conduct the 2020 International Rally scheduled for August 23-28, 2020 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Although we are certain that this virus’ impact on safety and daily life will run its course, the uncertainty regarding its duration has brought us to this difficult decision. We are hopeful all members that made plans to attend this year’s event, understand the serious nature of this situation and will agree that this is the most responsible decision for everyone involved.
The Kountry Klub looks forward to hosting you at the 2021 International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia on July 18 – 22, 2021. Please watch your email for the Happenings, the website and the Konnection for further announcements.
Ron and Wanda Llewellyn
Newmar Kountry Klub International Directors

I understand, but it's bummer. This was going to be our first one. Well we will have to find other areas to explore now.

We are disappointed as well. Would have been our first Intl Rally with Newmar. Since we spend most of our time out west, we likely won't attend the 2021 Intl rally in the east. We have concluded our travel plans for the summer are gone and will likely spend the entire summer in No Ca with our kids. Could be worse I guess. Both of us are still well. Just tired of being confined.

Seems like they are being very pessimistic cancelling an event at the end of August.

This decision (like so many similar decisions about annual events and large gatherings) is not a case of being "pessimistic" but instead, IMHO, forward thinking. There is ample reason to believe that COVID-19 will have up and down patterns that will not be uniform through the US. These kinds of events will congregate people from many regions that will return to them with this virus. This is not ideal at all.
We each have the ability (and responsibility) to make individual choices that are safe for us. That ability must include respect for the safety of our neighbors and thus enhancing our own safety in return. These individual situations allow us to make the micro-based decisions that directly impact us on a personal level. However, once you bring in hundreds (or more) people into that equation each of us is now subject to multiple vectors for this virus to spread. In short, one bad decision in a crowd is the bases for an exponential impact.
The bottom line is that NKK did not make a pessimistic decision but a prudent one based on what we know now. 20/20 vision might convince us that it was overly cautious but I think it was a forgivable choice.

Agreed, wise decision in these times. And want be heading east either in 2021 as we enjoy the west wide open spaces. Stay safe in all your travels.
