Norcold 1200

Are there normally a fan or fans behind the refer to help pull air across the condenser coils and out the roof vent on a 1200 series Norcold? Not sure if I have a fan back there or not. I see add on kits, but some allude to standard fans being present as well.

My Norcold 1210 had 2 fans located on the back near the top. About 3/4 from the bottom.

My coach's with the Norcold 1200 did not have any fans to help shed heat but mine were not on slides either. I have seen fans on units that were in slide outs on some coach's.

When we purchased our new to us 07 Discovery it had a Norcold 4 door with a cooked cooling unit! We wanted to outfit the coach for boondocking so we ordered a new Amish built cooling unit. Took Deb & I a Saturday afternoon to install & it has been running w/o issue for two+ years now.
The Norcold cooling units do indeed have TWO box fans high up on the cooling unit.

Google will bring up lots of posts on the subject;

The Norcold 1200's come with two built in fans on the back of the unit that are almost impossible to reach unless you remove the unit. They are thermostatically controlled so you won't hear them running all the time. They do go bad.

Mine has them and if I listen closely I can hear them running when I'm standing at the opening outside the motorhome. I've though about using incense sticks to see if they were working, go to the outside opening behind the refrig, light sticks and put it in the opening and see if the fans suck the smoke up.

The thermostat control have been known to fail, no easy way to check may need to pull fridge out.
