Oasis Annual Service

The replacement of the fuel filter requires that the filter element be filled with fresh diesel based fuel. Since we don't have a readily available supply of fuel can white kerosene that is used in indoor heaters be used?

I wouldn't do that unless Oasis says OK. Always keep a 1 gallon plastic container with diesel because need to fill fuel filter before installing on ISM Cummins engines.

We just had a presentation from Oasis (ITR) at the Hoots rally. Something I learned is that there is a way to install the filter without fuel and have the Oasis prime it for you. Unfortunately I do not recall the exact sequence, but it is what the tech (Randy) did when he serviced mine.

I'd recommend calling ITR and speaking with Randy or Jesse. Both are super helpful and will provide the specific procedure.

Hey Geoff,

It may not help you now - but I always ask the folks at Speedco to change out the Oasis filter when they change the Cummins & Onan filters, etc. The Oasis filter is located right next to the Onan - so it's not a big deal to include the Oasis filter with the Onan stuff. So far - they don't charge me anything extra. I have the filter with me - they pre-fill the filter and install it for me.

The Oasis factory and factory techs are only 45 minutes from my house. I'm glad Newmar is using Oasis!

Just did mine this weekend.
After I siphoned some diesel out of the tank, which was very easy, I pulled the old filter off and it was full of diesel. Not difficult at all.
