Similar thing happened to mine, it consumed thermal fluid since new (for 4 years) and I never could find it (Newmar tried also). It finally leaked enough to cause a wet spot that I noticed. Mine was on a fitting on the top of the heating unit. The crack was on the back side where I couldn't see it, leaked into the heating unit through the grommet where I couldn't see it. Finally, it leaked enough volume to cause a wet spot on the ground under the motorhome at the heating unit drain, it's there, just hard to find.
These fittings are steel and tend to crack when they are too tight and under the thermal stress that these are. I carry spare fittings now.
