Oasis heating operation

With the boiler on and rear zone set to Furnace the heat pump comes on but not the furnace. Only way I can get the furnace to work is to set the temp up real high. Then the furnace comes on but the heat pump continues to run.

With boiler on and front zone set to furnace only the furnace comes on.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong or is something set wrong?

The following lights are on at the Oasis both times - Power, AC Heat, Compressor, Fuel Pump, and Combustion Fan.

Any input will be appreciated.

Most likely it is the dip switch settings in your ac units on the roof, have you had an ac unit replaced recently?
You should be able to control if you are using your rooftop units as heat pumps or using your oasis as a furnace. If you do not see both options as you scroll through “mode” on your thermostat then the switches are not set properly.
If this is the case a quick call to Newmar can tell you the proper switch settings needed for your unit.
As you can tell, been there, done that.

How - Thanks for the reply.

Both roof top units are original - never replaced.

I do have both HP and Furnace settings on the control panel.

I am trying to remember but I do not think I had this problem a month ago in WY.

I really think I messed up the settings when trying to change them in the dark. Kind of a dumb idea but there are some people you don't want to wake up in the middle of the night.

So I think it's time for a little afternoon reading of the books to see what I may have changed.

See if setting the FAN to AUTO solves the issue.

Don,

Thank you for the reply. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner but have been caught up in other problems after leaving Gaffney.

Your reply was correct in fixing the problem. I crossed reference the zone 1 settings with zone 2 and found where they were different. Set zone 2 with zone 1 settings and everything works fine.

Solution is do not try to change settings in the dark.

Thank you,
Dave C
