Oasis heating question
Rookie question here. We are currently in a resort in the GA mountains and it's chilly outside, right at freezing. The roof heat pumps have been running to keep us warm just fine, and the Oasis burner is currently off. We do not have heated floors.
I'm working here at the table in the early morning hours and a loud fan under the kitchen sink came on by itself, and the floor register is blowing warm air. The fan is loud, but I really like the warm air coming out. I think this is the electric heating from the Oasis kicking in, am I right?
If so, how can I use this feature more often? Heating the floor level is really nice and I'd like more control over it, but there's nothing on the panel - just a burner switch, and I have not turned that on. I suppose I could dig out the manual, but where's the fun in that?

Yes, this is the Oasis heater running on electric. The heat will operate under electric or boiler but is faster and warmer with the boiler on. (lot more BTUs)
If the thermostat is set on Heat Pump and NOT on Furnace, then chances are the outside temp got too cold for the Heat Pump to work properly. When this happens, the heating system is supposed to automatically kick over to furnace. If you want the Oasis heat up front, just change the Zone 1 setting from heat pump to furnace.

Mark,
Typically once it gets below 40 it's tough for the roof heat pumps to keep up. You'll want to change thermostats to furnace and turn on burner which will blow warm air out of furnace registers on ground throughout coach.
(Most efficient way to heat when that cold)
Hope your enjoying the new coach & adventure!

Well there you go. I didn't realize I could set the thermostat specifically in furnace mode by zone. They have been set to Auto and the system has just been managing it on its own, pretty well I might add. But running both the heat pumps and the electric furnace doesn't make much sense. I just switched both zones to furnace and turned on the burner, and what do you know, it does make a difference. Thanks!

We're just north of Cleveland right now, going to visit some friends on Lake Chatuge in a couple days, love the Hiawassee area.
Our s&b place is/was in Kennesaw about a mile from the campus. KSU has just exploded. Our daughter started there, but decided on a military career instead. While she was there we got to see the place and it's pretty impressive.

Yes we are, thanks! It's a big change from living in a house, but we are doing great. We'll stick to the southeast for a while, then head out west.

I very seldom get to turn on the heat so I also have a question.... if the thermostat is on auto and the burner switch is on, will it automatically engage the Oasis furnace when the heat pumps can't keep up ?

If you have free electricity, and its not too cold, then there's no problem running with just the electric for the furnace. However, with lower heating capacity on electric only the fans will run longer and may be annoying. Similarly, for taking a shower, the electric only can make for a cool shower at times, especially if the furnace is also running.

With oasis on electric and the furnace running, I get 5 minutes of hot shower then it starts to cool down. The fans run longer to heat but the burner isnt annoying the neighbors.

What about running the electric floor heat while on shore power? I've heard this system can actually keep the coach pleasantly warm all by itself, true? Got to be limits i suppose.

Works perfectly well for us - we actually prefer it over the heat pumps and the Oasis burner because it is quiet. We camped in freezing temps (right around 32F) with just the floor heat and the coach was toasty.
