Oasis Hydronic-Hot Water Supply

Wondering about the on-demand hot water supplied by an Oasis Hydronic system. Couldn't answer this from the owners manual.

How much hot water can the unit supply before the diesel burner kicks in? The manual says a 'limited' supply is available under AC only.

To take a shower, does the diesel burner fire up?

Thanks

That depends more on the incoming water temp and how long you want to shower.

We hardly ever use the diesel burner. Only when temps are below 50, then only during showering. For heat at that temp the electric works fine.

With the burner on and the electric on, it can be 10 degrees out with the heaters running and the dish washer going and you still won't run out of hot water.

I agree. The only time I use diesel is for either a really long shower or once every few weeks just to make it work.

I guess my 08 MADP is not as efficient. My diesel burner comes on all the time. When I asked about this I was told that the electric element puts out less heat then a hair dryer. Maybe this is something I need to look into again.

I should clarify: I do not turn on the diesel burner switch unless I want it to come on.

Does the MADP have one electric element or two?

And is that an Oasis or a HydroHot?

I agree with all PDR John said 100%. It's really amazing how much effect the incoming water temperature has on the output of the system. But no matter how cold it is outside, when you fire up the burner, you will not run out of hot water. I have not used it lately as the electric switch in either the 1 or 2 position is more than enough down here in south Florida during the summer. I do like redbaron73's suggestion of still firing it up once in a while just to make it come on and run for a bit.

FD - It's an Oasis with two elements. There are two switches one for the burner and one that is a 3 position for electric (I OFF II)

Have you checked the circuit breakers for the heating elements? There will be two of them.

We routinely shower and usually heat the coach using the two electric elements. Running the single element does not cut it for us. We use The diesel burner when the outside air temp drops below freezing. I have to wonder if one of your two electric elements is not working.

Mike,
Ok now you guys got me thinking Maybe I'll have to check it out and not accept the answer I originally got.
