Oasis no hot water

An old thread says the issue is with a bad summer loop pump. Where can I start looking for the summer loop in a 2018 newmar Dutch star 4018?

The pumps are in the Oasis Distribution unit, which is usually right behind the boiler unit you see from the driver's side bay door. You'll access it via the bay door on the other side. There's a "wall" piece you remove first. Just 4 screws for that.

I made a post a couple of months ago with an explanation of the process, with pictures, and where you can get a replacement pump for a fraction of the cost that ITR charges.

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/oasis-pump-change-in-pictures-579939.html

Check the fuses first though.

You can get hot water by flipping on the bypass switch on top of the Oasis electrical box (only when you need hot water as that makes the zone pumps run continuously).

I’ve checked the breakers. I don’t see any fuses to check. I did notice “brown out” on the the panel where it tells me how many volts/amps I’m using. Any possibilities this did something to the system?

There are fuses behind the silver panel on the right wall in the bay with the oasis. If they are blown replace and test. If they are all good and the summer loop pump light is illuminated, pump is bad. Use the over ride switch on top of the silver panel.

ďBehind the silver panelĒ. Found it. All the fuses are good. Only lights on the silver panel is a green power on. Green summer loop on. And a green domestic water on. Still havenít concluded what needs to be replaced. Any presumptions?

On that silver box, there is a rocker switch on the top. When the summer loop pump goes bad, you turn that switch on and it basically uses the other pumps to pump the hot water to the faucets. Once you turn that on, try your faucets. If you have hot water, the summer loop pump has gone bad. You can use that switch while showering or doing dishes as an emergency bypass, but you need to turn it off each time after use.

If the pump is bad, use NCC-1701A's link to replace it. It's not a hard job, it's just in a tight area to work inside the bay.

The summer loop pump in the distribution module behind the oasis needs to be replaced.

Ok. The consensus is replacing the summer pump. It’s ordered. Next weeks project. I’ll study the post for install till then. The bypass suggestion was HUGE. Btw. The amount of pop ups on this website is so annoying.

I just replaced my Summer Loop pump today with a US Solar one from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/12V-20L-Oasis.../dp/B01CIT2WX8
$91 free shipping. It is the exact same pump. The only difference is the printing on the label.
It took about an hour from start to finish.

An hour? What tools did you need/use?

Penman, it's not hard. You need a tool to clamp off one hose so your hydronic fluid doesn't all run out. You need a pliers to compress the hose clamp. You need to be able to either attach new connectors to the wires on the new pump or cut off and reconnect the old connectors to the new pump. Also, a screwdriver to remove and replace the carpeted panel in front of the Distribution Module and the metal panel covering the Module.

It's not tool intensive at all. I cover all this in the post I referenced.
