Oasis on in Storage
Newbie here.
I have my 2019 NA 3345 in storage (under cover outside)for the first time. It has been very cold here in Colorado ( near zero). It is hooked up to 50amp electric. I have everything not of importance turned off. The batteries have looked OK for a month. I stopped by to check things out and noticed fluid under the engine and the generator. I noticed that I had left the Oasis unit burner turned on. I can see the exhaust under it also. Could this have done some harm to the Oasis or lines from the unit? Do lines from the Oasis go to the engine and generator area?
All of your help is appreciated.

The Oasis has coolant loops that supply heat to the engine for preheating and up to the dash for front cabin heat. They should not be leaking. It is not best practice to run the heater especially on diesel without some checkup. You do need to check the system is still filled as running the boiler dry will damage it. As you're asking this line of questioning, I would suggest you turn it off until a qualified person can make sure everything is in order and working properly. Burning out the heat exchanger in the unit will not be a good day.

I turned it off. It was a rookie mistake. I will move the RV tomorrow to check the Oasis fluid level. I did determine the small puddles under the unit appear to be Glycol.
Should I turn the Oasis off on the units front panel and not just the Silverleaf?
If there was no demand on the unit (no heat turned on) why was it running?

When the temp drops below (I believe it's) 40 degrees the Oasis will turn on and keep the cargo bay's warm to prevent water from freezing.
I keep mine on AC2 and it works just fine without the burner being turned on.
Check the Oasis fluid level in the engine bay and fill if needed.
How much fluid on the floor are you talking about?

If the Oasis is "enabled" either the burner or electric, it heats the boiler section, so it is ready to supply heat on demand. Turn on a faucet and when flow is detected, the summer pump runs to quickly heat the water in the heat exchanger. The boiler fluid has to be hot to heat the domestic water as it is being used. Same approach for the coach heat. When called for the supply of hot boiler fluid is there ready to go. Works similar to a boiler in a house. Now that I see how wasteful it is I'll look to add some controls. I'm also thinking heat exchanger tank for domestic water when heat is not needed.

One thing I ran into with my 2023 New Aire: My outdoor storage is on gravel vs. concrete and would eventually obstruct the Oasis exhaust pipe as the rig settled.
As pointed out earlier in this thread the Oasis will automagically turn on when the temp drops low enough unless the diesel fuel AND both AC heating elements are turned off in the SilverLeaf panel. I accidentally left the diesel setting on and ended up having a restricted exhaust pipe. Why? As the New Aire drops air and settles lower to the ground over time (not leveled on jacks while in storage), most of the clearance between the exhaust pipe and the ground is eliminated. This caused premature contamination of my Oasis burner nozzle in my Oasis burn chamber after kicking on and off a few times a day for the couple of weeks before I noticed it was doing this.
My clue? The huge black soot mark around where the end of the pipe was touching the gravel. This was then followed by the unit shutting down on its own, claiming the flame wasn't ignited even though it was (i.e. it wasn't burning as hot/bright as it should have been).
Best,
-Mark

Here is front and back. By the engine is the largest. This is a new unit to me. It is probably the first time it has been stored in these temps. It is definitely the first time I have left the Oasis on for any period under 40 degrees.

The system gets pressurized when heated, it has a radiator style pressure cap. Important to find these leaks. The hoses and heaters are inside the coach usually tucked inside cabinets and furniture. Loeaks from there are coming from above the floor and then going through things to get below the basement.

Maybe the fluid expanded and overflowed the reservoir?

The expansion/recovery tank should take care of that. Something is wrong for fluid to be lost.

Thanks for the help. I'll need to go see if I can locate the origin of the leaks. It will probably need to visit the shop.
Thanks again,
Steve

d23hayness57- Unless Newmar has made a design change since the 2014 model year- I beg to differ with your stablemen above- the Oasis does indeed have a boiler fluid loop to the engine that heats the Oasis fluid from the engine heat if the engine is running (going down the road). Saves using the Oasis diesel burner when in transit. The engine block heater is a separate electric heat system that you plug in to a receptacle in the rear engine compartment. It requires shore power or generator running to supply the power for it.
Happy Trails

The heat exchanger combination that uses engine heat can also transfer heat from the Oasis to the engine. Is there an engine pre-heat switch with the other Oasis switches? If yes then that likely turns on transfer pump to move engine coolant to heat it. There are so many ways these systems can be implemented and that is why I often point out on my 2008 Nimbus". So, on "My Nimbus", the boiler is stand alone, and plumbed to the heating loops, and there is a separate heat exchanger box that has sections for the boiler, engine and domestic water loops. For engine pre heat I only have the Oasis option. There is no block heater, glow plugs, or intake air preheat.
That said, temps were down in the 20s last night. I thought it would be a good idea to take the coach out and get propane for the 2nd time this year. When I turned on the ignition, the temp gauge indicated 28F. I cranked and it started right up. Only noticeable difference was it seemed to crank slower than normal. Engine was last used and chassis batteries last charged while driving home on 12/2.

Another possibility is that you are having cold weather leaks on the engine coolant. Some times these leaks only show up when its cold. I had this issue on my 2019 DSDP, and it was the clamp going to the radiator. 2 turns is all it took to stop the leak.
The same could be at the front heater hose as engine coolant goes up there.
THe problem is both coolant loops run in both locations, and both have a form of glycol. So finding the leak is going to be the only solution, and it may be only when its below 28F.
