Oasis Summer Loop failure

On my 2019 Ventana 4037, my Oasis System just indicated a “Summer Loop” fault, in order to get hot water I need to run the system on “bypass”, question I have is simply how long can I run it on Bypass? I am 2 weeks out from my shop service date and they will replace the pump...

Hi - Just plan your hot water use around a schedule and turn it on when needed. If you are in a cold enough climate to run the house heat you can co-ordinate with that as well.

You can run it in "bypass" as long as you want. The only downside is that you are pumping fluid around your heater outlets continuously and the cabinets will get warm. Not really a problem this time of year.

My summer loop also recently died, I will be replacing it myself ( Newmar payed for it ). Per ITR after using the bypass switch ALWAYS turn it off. A couple of things that I learned not having the summer loop. If you are in a cold climate and need to heat the coach use the Oasis system, not the heat pumps. You don't need to use the bypass switch. The system will heat your water. I also found the electric elements are good enough to get a shower in. Hope this helps..

Since the Summer Loop pumps don't seem to last very long, I'm waiting to get mine on my 2015 DS replaced for the second time, I've always wondered how long the other heater pumps are going to last if also used with the By-Pass switch. They surely get a lot of use heating the coach if the coach is used full time and in cold weather a lot.

My summer loop failed. I replaced that with the new design pump from ITR. Then the zone 1 failed. I ordered two more new pumps and replaced both zone 1 and 2 pumps as I didn’t want to have to go in there a third time. Kept the one working original pump for a spare. Has been over a year and no more zone faults. Expensive repair caused by inferior designed original pumps that shorted out.

Question, does the summer loop pump run when the heating elements are off? We keep our coach plugged in between trips, but with all the Oasis heating elements off. Should I be going out and turning the power off at the unit in the basement?

I'm certainly no expert on the Oasis as I have many questions myself. But as I understand the Summer Loop pump only runs when a faucet or shower is turned on and only will have hot water there if the heating elements or burner is on or has recently been on, or if the engine has been running recently. If I have goofed here someplace hopefully one of our more educated members can come to our rescue.

Just a note here - this pump may last longer and is sure a better value - https://www.amazon.com/s?k=1K0965561...ref=nb_sb_noss

Just a thought,

Ted I purchased my pumps in the fall of 2018. They are definitely more well built. The old style pump I think said GR on the label. The new style says ITR on it.

They are the pumps for the Oasis heating system. There are three. One summer loop pump for hot water and two heat zone pumps. Early pumps had a high failure rate. New design pumps from ITR seem to be much more reliable. I would imagine your 2019 has the new pumps.
