Older Ventana Owners - Atwood Jacks: Really?

Good day Newmar Ventana Owners,
I have been searching various web sites for a good used DP. In my search, I have come across some older Ventana's. But to my surprisement, these used Atwood Electric Jacks. As a savvy reader of these posts, this system is no longer supported, nor parts available. There are a few pieces from salvage, but that's it. I am curious what current owners do when the controller or jacks break. This jack system is simply unreliable for me to even consider any coach using them.

Regards
Dutch Master

Dealers must know that what are they asking for price considering the problem.
Some members have got the HWH system installed and what Newmar went back to later years.
This thread has links to the jack systems in older threads and salvage dealers.
Good luck in your hunt for a Newmar plenty of them out there in fact three older ones in our Classifieds including the much sort after ATME mid engine coach, two of them. All HWH jack systems.

I keep hoping that someone will source a supply for the parts. We have not had problems in the last few years, but we did initially. Sue (may she R.I.P.) at Atwood was great with sending us parts. We offered to buy them, but she said they weren't allowed to sell them since it wasn't a repairable system. After we used our last spare, we've been unable to get any others. My husband found repairing them to be a fairly simple process. He just had to buy some large wrenches to take them off & reinstall.

beyond, for parts, try colaws salvage in carthage missouri, and arizona salvage in phoenix az.
often, its cheaper in the long run to just replace the whole system, with a more reliable one.
there are several companies that supply aftermarket systems. you can order them thru camping world and install them yourself. hwh, bigfoot, equalizer, and lippert all make aftermarket systems. i have no idea what pricing for the other systems are, nor would i quote a price here, but they are available on the internet.
