Angry On-off on off on off off off rear view camera

So we are traveling and the rear view camera on our 2004 Dutch Star 4025 has been going on and off, currently mostly off. Sometimes dim and sometimes dimmer, occasionally bright flash then off. Guessing the camera is going South, but would like the opinions of others. Thank you very much!

Sounds like loss connections. Might pull unit out and check the plug in the back of unit. On our 04 Essex we had the same issue and that was the problem.

Yeah, sounds like a bad power connection most likely. Bad video connections don't "usually" act like that.

On-off on off on off off off rear view camera

Ref 1999 MADP. Our camera would go out and when it did so did the drivers power window. The cause was a bad/cold solder joint on a fixed relay located on the chassis fuse panel. The attached picture shows the relay with a piece of white paper on top. Removal and re do fixed the problem and took appx 1 hr. Why this is the only hard connected relay on the board still mystifies us. On our unit this board is ahead of the steering wheel under a dash cover. Pushing down and/or wiggling this relay is how we would get a temporary fix.Click image for larger version

Thanks for the responses. Took the panel out and reconnected the power, it seemed well seated but reconnected just for giggles, and it now works!

Yup! RV's are hard on electrical contacts. And the older they are, the worse the corrosion can be.

Glad to hear your solution was so simple -- and cheap.
