Onan 5.5 HGJAB-1038K parts

Hi All: I am just getting to catching up on my yearly maintaince on the NEW_USED Bay Star. We have the 5.5 hgjab K series and I am looking for the oil filter, spark plugs and air filter. Do others use Green Label products only or are the other brands ok to use??? does anyone have the other brand part ##'s. I do not know the hours but our RV is a 2013. not heavy use from what I see so far. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Daryl.

The hour meter should be in the compartment by the generator.

We use the Wix 49087 Air filter and Wix 57398 oil filters. Bought a bunch of both filters in 2012 off eBay to get a reasonable price with shipping, Green Label cost about the same ($8.91 for the 122-0836 oil filter) if you have a Cummins dealer close by.

We have about 550 hours on the generator, spark plugs were changed and valves were adjusted at about 450 hours by an authorized Onan shop, I'm sure they used the Green Label spark plugs.

For oil we use Rotella T6 5W40 full synthetic, we use the coach in climates from sub-zero to 100 degrees (East Coast, have not used it in deserts of AZ) and this oil has worked very well.

Do you have the owners and service manuals for it? If not search for HGJAB manuals and you should find them pretty easily. Owners manuals are on the Cummins Onan website and last time I searched the service manuals were also.

What spark plug # do you use?? I do not have the old plugs out to see any numbers, a bit to cold here yet but would like to get parts online to replace when weather warms. Any part #'s would be helpful.

I do have the owners manual but no part numbers that I can see? Thanks for the oil/air filter part #'s.

The receipt didn't mention the part numbers. Here's a thread from another forum regarding the spark plugs. Found the parts list here.
