Oops

Got a bit too close to the roof of my garage backing up and broke the ladder on my 2002 DSDP. Where can I get a replacement/repair parts?

One of our sponsors has replacement ladders that can be set up with any configuration.
Also there are RV Salvage yards.

YOUR LADDER IS MOUNTED to wood blocks imbedded in the fiberglass cap of motor home and roof. Use the same mount locations.

I am seeing a RV Surplus place n Elkhart offering parts to allow you to cut out the damaged section and repair it. this would keep the original mounting points. Would this be a good option?

Do not see why not just need solid mounting so you can use it safely.

Repair made yesterday and ladder seems sturdy enough, climbed it to the top.

Did not see any direct comment to the above so I thought I would pass along some experience to all.

I bought the repair pieces from the company above and it worked out great. I repaired by replacing 18 inches on each side. Just need to plan ahead, order the tubes an inch or so longer than needed so you can fine trim with a tubing cutter (their cuts are a little less than square). Order 4 pieces of the special inner tubing pieces they sell, also any screws or bolts that you are going to touch, order a replacement. Also buy or have on hand a "shorty" tubing cutter like the Ridgid 40716 (Amazon $21) so you can cut out the bend tubes without removing the whole ladder.

Similar to what I did, added 4ft working from the top of the damage down. Slid the steps up and screwed them in to place. Took about 2 hours. Good and sturdy. Total cost $28.
