Open Roads discount at Loves

Has the discount at Loves changed using EFS card? Purchased fuel in Tennessee yesterday and received $0.61 discount per gallon. Not sure if it’s a one off or mistake.

I believe it varies by location. I used the card at a Love’s in Colorado a couple of weeks ago and I received a 30¢ per gallon discount.

Dennis I haven’t been out traveling for a couple of months. Before that I thought Loves had a nation wide $0.28 discount contracted with Open Roads. Didn’t know if that changed since I have been off the road. Whatever I enjoy $0.61 to $0.28 .

We normally don’t use Loves because of their price but I did notice around Fort Meyers Fl that they were real close in price to other stations in the area if using TSD. Discount was 43 cents.

I just pulled up Colorado on their map, and it appears that Loves In Colorado is very close in price to TA. One station in Eads had a pump price of $4.29 and a discount price of $3.47 which is a discount of 82 cents.

Yes, Loves is back to offering a higher discount. In Comfort, Texas on 5/9/23 we got a discount of around $.75/gal. I believe it started back around May 1st. In Guthrie, Ok. on 5/11/23 the discount was around $.65/gal.

Y’all got me interested. Loves in Waller Tx has a discount of $1.15.

In Sidney, Neb., we are sitting in Cabela's campground this morning, the Loves discount this morning is only $.15/gal. But the station across is still $.20/gal cheaper than the Love's, with the discount.

We have an upcoming trip so I have started to keep an eye on prices and I have to say TA/Petro's near me are still a few cents cheaper than Love's. We live near Fort Worth and the Weatherford Petro is just $0.02 cheaper than the Love's across the street. The TA in Denton is $0.04 cheaper than the Love's again across the street. The price difference in the past was much, much higher, like $0.40.

We have also figured out prices go up about 10% as soon as you move away from the DFW Metroplex. It doesn't matter if you're going North, South, East or West. Whenever possible we always fill up near DFW. Are the other metroplexes the same way?

There is another thread. A week or two ago, TSD (Open Roads) and Love's signed a new agreement. Discounts seem to range from almost nothing, to $1.50 or more. Seems like if Love's has a really low price, there is minimal discount, for instance I stopped at one with the sign saying 3.46, and the discount was only .16 a gallon. However, the day before, I was at a station with $3.98 on the pump and the discount was .86.

The discounted price seems to be about 3.15 to 3.30 in the Florida/AL/MS/AR area, and the amount of discount seems to be then based on how high the cash price is, which varies greatly, even with Loves just a few miles apart.

Can Mudflap fleet card pay at pump or only inside?

I would say that the discount is based on what they have to pay for fuel from the supplier. The more they have to pay, the less the discount so they can keep their profit margin.

Loves in Hornell, NY is $1.48 off per gallon.
NY State still has one of the highest pump price for Diesel
