Opening windows?

I am noticing the trend of manufacturers going to fixed windows. Has Newmar started installing windows that don’t open?

I love feeling the cool breeze while relaxing in the coach. Can’t imaging having fixed windows.

Yes, most of ours are fixed windows... Doesn't bother us as wife has asthma and won't let me open windows most of the time anyway. Campfires really bother her so staying in commercial campgrounds that don't allow campfires is fine. If I want fresh air, I will go out and sit at the outside table.

We have a 18 LA which was the last year of high line coaches with windows that opened and prefer them that way. But I most say sure is nice looking out of bigger windows. Do you rally have to have big windows that don't open?

I know Newmar is moving away from windows that open and into more viewable glass. As long as they keep a driver's window that opens, you can turn on the rear most fan and cause a whole house fan effect. When it's safe you can keep the front door open too.

Yep a deal breaker. We need our windows. A nice 74 degree day all windows are open. I have my windows open at my stick built or moble home. It's nice to bring in the freash air.

We love camping in the fall and spring. Mainly because so many of the days we can open the windows.

So if its 74 degrees and I'm boondocking, I have to run the AC because of the sun. To run the AC I have to run the generator?

My understanding is you can still order operating windows on the coaches as a special.

My 2019 Canyon Star has only 2 fixed windows. All others are openable. However, they are frameless so probably appear to be non operating from the outside. And I really like the frameless windows. No more window tracks full of dirt and dead bugs.

Also, if it's 74* outside I'll have both air conditioners running at full throttle.

Years ago I had a Thor Hurricane 30q and one day the door lock broke in the locked state and we were outside( this seems to be a frequent problem ). I was able to get one of the sliding windows at the dinette to open and then able to crawl inside and get the door open. Not much of an option with either fixed windows or frameless opening windows.

Spent the last four winters in Arizona and could probably count on one hand the number of times we've used the AC. Open windows and the roof vent fans do a great job for us! Fixed windows would be a deal breaker for us too!

I have a 2019 LADP that has 3 small windows that open, plus the entry screen door.

A.couple of weeks ago we had a nice spring day. I opened my 3 windows, the entry door, and turned on all three fantastic fans.

We had a nice pleasant breeze flowing through the coach.

You don't need a lot of windows that open. You just need the right windows that open.

Hey, if they don't open at least they're not gonna fall out, well maybe. LOL. Actually the bedroom windows open and sometimes one the slides so you can turn on the exhaust fans and pull fresh air in.

I tend not to open windows while in CGs. Keeps all the dust out.
My Horizon only has 2 small windows up front that even open.
The whole front of my RV is almost all non opening big, I mean big windows and I like it that way. I have an absolutely wonderful view from my RV all around.
Lots of windows
