Order Confirmation / replacement wheels

We just got order confirmation from Newmar on our first ever RV, a VLDP 4040 with customer color and FPU in April. We are so looking forward to it!

The one thing that I know that i want to do is to replace the steel wheel / simulators on the LE with real aluminum wheels. Anyone have any good suggestions for a place that I could get that done? Newmar denies that as a special as it affects their chassis order process.

Have you tried going directly to Freightliner with your request?

When I needed wider wheels on the '02 DSDP I just went to a truck wrecking yard and picked up 4 9" X 22.5 Alcoa wheels and 2 9" X 22.5 steel wheels. Had the Alcoa's polished at a truck wheel polishing place. Cost me $35 a wheel since they were pretty pitted. Then I had them mounted when I bought new tires.
The 9" width is pretty standard for trucks, anything narrower will be tough to find in a wrecking yard.

I had thought of going to Freightliner, though at this point in the process, I don't know who / where at Freightliner.
