Overhead fan runs with everything off

2006 Essex 4508
Left for New York for Christmas & New Years and after arriving at Liberty Marina and RV, found that the zone 1 furnace did not work.
After getting back home I put it in the garage and after turning everything off the overhead fan located in the overhead console was still running very slow and it could be heard from either side vent. I turned on the overhead fan and set it on high, med, and low it works fine and sounds different. When I turned it off, the fan was still running.
Each trip brings a new problem, where's the quality I have not found it, 40,000 miles, thousands of $'s and are we have fun yet?
Would I buy another Newmar?

The mysteries of a 2006 Essex do not surprise me anymore. I've experienced similar, but not the same, on mine. I was told that the only way to turn everything off is pull out the battery tray and disconnect the cables. My solution was to find a storage place which provided electricity.

You may need to reset your E-Plex system as FlyingDiver has described in this thread.
There are also information on E-plex systems in the QT's links 1 & 2 and # 3.

JVR,

I'm new to motor homing so please take this with a grain of salt. However I'm not new to boats and there are some things that are very similar.

It's a motor home and stuff breaks.

I have found that one can pay $350k for a 39' motor yacht of $500 for the same size motor yacht. Example: a Mainship 34t was a $350k boat when it was in production in the 03-08 model years. A Nordhavn was a 40' boat in the same years and it was $450-600k. Both for all practical purposes were very similar. They both used the same engine, water heater, genset, bilge pumps, vac u flush heads etc. So why the difference. Well a lot was in the total build quality and design. Same mechanical parts but not used in the same way.

In boats there are several company's that built boats like the Mainship and there are a lot of them out there. Mainship, Hunter, Catilina but there are several like Nordhavn as well. Nordhavn, Selene, Swan. So does an Attwood water pump work better or longer in a Nordhavn than in a Mainship or Hunter, of course not, it is the same pump.

My point is, the cost is in the total build and design. I think the same holds true in this business. There are a lot of companies out there but if you look in the coaches you will see a lot of the same appliances, water pumps, A/C's, toilets, fixtures......... But the quality of the build is deeper. Every builder has their story as to why theirs is better for sure but I think Newmar runs up in the Nordhavn and Selene class not the Mainship, Hunter class.

Keep in mind that when a Trident sub like the Ohio returns from a six month deployment the crew stays on board until the squawks that appeared while out at sea are repaired before they turn the boat over to the new crew. My guess is that General Dynamics over charged the Navy way more for that boat than we pay for our MH. Yet they still break every day.

BTW there are even more expensive boat builder as in Marlow, Fleming to name just two but we have the same in MH's. Prevost is surely one.

Just my 2 cents.

Update from information gained from replies, thanks to all.

2006 Essex 4508
Left for New York for Christmas & New Years and after arriving at Liberty Marina and RV, found that the zone 1 furnace did not work, I assume it the fan not running.
After getting back home I put it in the garage and after turning everything off the overhead fan or pump located in the overhead console was still running very slow and it could be heard from either side vent. I turned on the overhead fan and set it on high, med, and low it works fine and sounds different. When I turned it off, the fan or pump noise was still running.
I found a post on the Newmar forum on resetting the eplex and gave it a try, holding the tanks button produced a menu and it indicated 15 of 17 modules found and modules missing address 50 & 129. When I select off the fan or pump noise quits. I tried a reset on all and modules 10, 50, 129, & 553 all timed out.
I found a listing of addresses for a King Air all electric and it shows 50 as the tank monitor in the bay, and 129 as the grey tank sensor, both of which have not worked in quite some time so I don’t think the fan or pump noise is related. Also, I assume 10 & 553 are na to my coach.
