Can these brackets be welded or repaired on the coach or does it have to be removed? How much trouble is it to remove the damaged bracket for repair or replacement? If I remember right, the large rod for the slide runs through the bracket and the motor which seems like a terrific job for removal and doing this repair.
Also, kind of wondered about cleaning the paint off the inside of the "L" part of the bracket and filling it with a good wedge of JB weld as a support before the breaking begins.
If this thin bracket is just another case of Newmar cheaping up their build like they did on 2015 furniture, interier ceiling lights, exterior painting, and 2016 front axles it looks like they should stand the costs to fix this bracket problem regardless of being out of warranty.

While at camp Newmar last week for replacement furniture, they fixed my broken bracket at no charge.

I'm not clear here. You want to fix it with JB weld and you are calling Newmar cheap?
Has anyone you know had to pay to have their furniture replaced, ceiling lights changed, bracket replaced or front axle replaced. And what paint problem are you talking about. Since 2016 the DS is cut and buffed like the upper brands.

There are three welds holding the kitchen slide motor bracket. With slide closed they will have to remove motor and rod, grind out 3 small welds, remove bracket and then reverse process. They allotted 1 full day. IRose44 how long did it take them to change out your bracket?

We had left the coach for new furniture. So don't have a time for you.
Zalaska was at camp and asked him his problem.....he said slide bracket...checked ours and it was busted, ready to break completely loose.
Wander if the techs would have discovered it on their own.

Thanks to all previous posters that alerted me to this!
We picked up a 2013 Ventana 3433 last week and arrived home in W NY Sat.
Got digging here to learn more about Newmars and found this thread.
Checked my motor mounts and found 3 of 4 were loose and one (pass / galley side) slide motor "L" bracket weld was approx 1/3 broken.
Replaced all washers w/ larger flat - removed the split and added the recommended Blue LocTite. Will need to pursue getting the broken weld fixed & reinforced next,
I replaced the pass side bedroom bolts as this was a different mtg - motor had a foot mounting through bolted up through frame / support members. I replaced w/ flanged bolts and hardened NyLoc nuts & large flat washers w/ LocTite - as belt & suspenders. This is the only motor that is semi exposed - in the DEF compartment and has a plastic shield over it which would be a challenge to remove each time to check hence the belt & suspenders approach here.
I'm considering rewelding the existing bracket and just adding a piece of flat bar stock to reinforce the inside angle of the "L". Seemed like the easiest & most expedient way vs a whole new bracket - especially if I'm responsible for the co$t... I do plan to check in w/ Newmar to see where they stand on this... my feeling is this should have been reported to owners either via a recall (preferable) or at least a TSB to alert folks before more damage is done...just my opinion and will be my first experience w/ Newmar and the coach is clearly out of warranty.
Thanks again
Don

Does it look like this kitchen slide motor bracket can be welded on the coach? Seems like there would be a lot of heat and sparks inside the compartment doing this but it would sure be the simplist procedure if the welder is good at his work, and knows what to do while welding on a motor home.

I checked my 15 DS 4369 yesterday and found the mounting bracket looking much like lakebuster photo's. Bracket twisted and inside weld taring away about 3/4 inch. I've only cycled that side about a dozen times. Called customer service and they want photos emailed. Then they will figure out what to do. My location is ND and my dealer is in MN and they are not equipped to do this repair, so finding someone to make this repair will be a challenge.

My bracket was twisted and broke on both sides
It was replaced with a thicker bracket.
I think any good welder could fix this.
But it needs the thicker bracket or it will just break again.
P.S. Alan I lost your email somehow.

True, just take everything out of compartments in area, cover with fire tarp, turn off inverter and disconnect battery grounds before welding.

Had my repair done at a local welding shop, they fashioned a new bracket and completely replaced the old. It now looks the way that Newmar should have made it in the first place!

DRL1950____ Did they have to remove the shaft and gear box or were they able to build the repair around it, without removing? That wood seem to be the difficult part to remove and reinstall, re-aline shafts and motor gear assembly.

Yes they had to remove the shaft and re-Aline everything. It definitely wasn't an easy job, but it is now really solid and I doubt that the new bracket will ever move. Whole thing was around $500, but at least I don't have to worry about it anymore
