btw - I did not remove tiles etc from underneath the shower and cabinets. I just used whatever means necessary to remove as much as possible in those areas. Later came back with trim to cover bad spots.

I'm probably going to leave the toilet also. I did pull it yesterday and can not see an easy way to lower the flange. Also the screws holding the flange are pretty corroded and I do not think I could remove without them falling apart.
I've tried cutting up to the wall for the shower, cabinets, and refrigerator as best I can to keep the support in place but I'm not sure how stable that tile will be is the future
