Plastic slide switch in door jamb

Would someone tell me what the black plastic slide switch in the door jamb controls. It has an airline run to it and was rattling on occasion. Velcro washers made it quiet. Finally got all the rattles, squeaks and chattering eliminated from the door area. I can ride in peace finally......lol

Thanks for any info on the switch in advance ....best regards

The switch maybe for your steps to extend and retract.
With your door open and steps extended, push the button and see what reacts.

It should be the air actuated latch mechanism at the front top of your door, it is to hold top of door in. Never open door without parking brake set or it will break the latch. I see that you have a Ventana, did not know they had a upper door latch, any way that is what my Dutch Star has.

Thanks Dave,

Makes sense now knowing what it operates. The air makes the plastic latch slide up into the bracket on the door. The slide part was rattling and driving me crazy last night. I stopped a half dozen times trying to fix the noise to no avail until this morning when we pinpointed the source.

Thanks again, this forum is great for information and help to fix just about anything on your coach.
