Play in Steering, Still

I posted last month about some play I had in the steering on my 2019 London Aire with a Freightliner chassis, the coach is less than 90 days old.

It's at the FL dealer right now and they have confirmed my complaint. They have done an alignment, set the ride height and verified tire pressures.
The alignment was off a bit and setting it did make a little difference but there is still an issue.

The coach drives straight but when you his a bump the steering starts to wander which in turn starts the play in the wheel. It is almost as if the Comfort Drive get confused as to where center is which in turn causes the driver to input side to side corrections of the steering wheel until it settles down and starts tracking straight again or my thought is until it finds center.

The FL dealer is working with FCCC but they are scratching their heads. I know at one time there was an engineer on this site that worked on or helped design the Comfort Driver and wrote quite an in-depth paper on it. Does anyone have any ideas or had this problem. Or maybe if the individual that wrote this paper is still a member of this site could chime in and help. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

The engineer is Ken Sherwin. You can find his thread in the stickies on the first part of this forum.

Step 1 is a road test to confirm symptoms
Step 2 is check all steering components for any play / looseness
Step 3 is alignment and ensuring wheel is straight down normal pitch straight road.
Step 4 is adjust the ComfortDrive center ie: calibrate it. I have a sneaking suspicion this might be where the disconnect is.

If they didn't check gear lash in your steering gearbox, they should have.

Ken Sherwin is the comfort drive engineer. He commented on your first post and told you to try something. Did you do that?

Yes, I didn't put two and two together as to who he was on the first post.
