Plexiglas at Screen Door?

Has anyone replaced the screens with plexiglass and if so how? Before we got our new Ventana LE we had a Tiffin Allegro that had a doggie window. Sophie (our Yorkie) loved looking out of the window.

Right now I have the door open with the screen closed and the step cover up and Sophie is loving it. But right now it is cool enough to do this. I need to find out some way to put plexiglass to keep the cool a/c air.

Use Lexan it doesn't crack as easy as Plexi. I cut it with a router and riveted it to the frame.

I would use which ever product works best, Lexan or Plexiglas, create two panels a little larger than the two screen areas and use the hold downs that screw on and twist, like the ones often used on household mirrors. This way the panels could be removed when not needed.

Something like this....https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Hardwar...mounting+clips

I put in Lexan on my old coach. Set it up with screen clips so I could remove them when I wanted. Worked good, except it would rattle while traveling and I had to find space to store them when I didn't want them in place. On the new coach, I used clear vinyl that is used for boat top windows. I had velcro sewed in spots around the perimeter of the vinyl. On the screen door, I put on stick on velcro to attach the vinyl. These attach easily, don't rattle when traveling, and when I don't want them on the door, they come off and roll up into a neat, compact roll.

Using narrow strips of velcro is what I was thinking about.

Have you considered one of these? A Camco 43997 in white or black. Ours has kept our two pups from tearing out the scree plus minimally affects air flow:
